I give you the worlds largest Z toy collection

So I'm posting my Z toy collection, 490 pieces. After 13 years of collecting I finally have a house large enough with a room to dedicate to my collection. Also for the first time my collection is displayed in full and cataloged.

Just a little history on it. My collection started a few months after owning my 84 300zx at the age of 17. My mother had come home from the store one day and left a hot wheel of a 84 300zx on my bed. When I got home from hanging with my girlfriend at the time I was really stunned and excited to see a miniature version of my car. I proudly displayed it on my dresser. Then it got me thinking, are there any others. And so my collection started. First with Z31's and then eventually all 300zx's. After I got my 280z at 18 (both Z's were paid for by myself) I started expanding to all Z's. Then in 2003 with the arrival of the 350z my collection exploded as Z's were easy to find everywhere. My collection went on hold 6mo prior to med school starting. I had reached capacity of my two tiny curio cabinets in my apartment and needed to start gearing up for my move to school. After graduation I bought myself my 370z as a present to myself and with the arrival of the 370z my collection started again.

Here is the break down of my collection. Any questions or requests for closer pics let me know. My collection consists mainly of uniques, meaning I don't have a double of it. However I do have a small amount of doubles in package as well. On display is only the Uniques opened and unopened.

Total Z's-490
S30Z-105
S130Z-63
Z31-89
Z32-68
Z33-148
Z34-17

Uniques opened-406
Uniques in package-21
doubles in package-63

Third picture is a Koyosho 1:18 BRE 240z signed by Pete Brock and John Morton. The picture behind it is also signed. I wish they would have gone through with the BRE styled 370z like Pete had wanted.

Awesome collection man! Thanks for sharing it :tiphat:

:iagree: I have a 3 car garage, it's not big enough... I'm ready to double it.

OP, nice collection

Cant argue that your not a Z nut. Nice cars and collection. Owning several other generation Z's at one time is also a dream of mine.

Redglare 09-01-2012 09:59 AM

i don't see any z34's in that collection

280z/300zx 09-01-2012 11:26 AM

LOL, not at this time. Maybe when I'm 50-60 and need money for retirement. Right now I'm growing my collection. Damn Z34's are hard to come by. I have 90% of whats available in stores. The rest all have to be bought on ebay from overseas.

sillyoldtayo 09-01-2012 02:11 PM

wow nice collection of toys!

sparky 09-01-2012 04:26 PM

Great coollection and my favourite photo is the last one on the street. Yellow nose to nose. Really shows the lineage and makes think back to my 240 days.
Thanks for posting! :tiphat:

I'm not sure I'm missing any of these except the one in front of the 370z with what seems to be gold wheels. The 350z I have, it's still in package and is in the photo I posted. The red, yellow, and white 370z I believe I have. I know I have 370z's in those colors but I'm not sure about the wheel style. It's kind of hard to tell from the angle of your pic. The red 370z in front seems to have gold wheels, that's the only one I don't think I have. If you could post a more head on pic I'd like to see. Thanks

Show us a shot with and example of each model/generation side by side in the same scale :)

Dude, I've tried for a few years now. Originally when we first started dating I couldn't say much, she had a new 06 Vette. I at the time had my 280z, 300zx, and 06 WRX stage 1. I mean the Vette is just an awesome car. Then I got my 370z and was much happier, though still miss the AWD. In 2010 she wanted to trade her Vette and 2000 Trans AM V8 for the new camaro. I know it seems silly but honestly coming out of school (we met in med school) the Vette was hurting financially. In an effort to decrease car payments the Camaro made more sense. At the time I tried converting her to any import but the Z wasn't an option. She needs the backseat for her dog. The dog is a bit big to put in the passenger seat of the Z. But I did try a WRX, STI, EVO X GSR, Genesis coupe. The EVO was the closest winner but in the end it wasn't enough to get her away from a V8.

Right now we are debating getting a jeep wrangler or ford raptor for utility/off road/people mover/dog mover which will let her get back into a Vette at some point. I think the closest I'll get to conversion is the GTR but at this point neither of us I ready to commit that much to a car right now.

I'm just thankful she likes cars too, enjoys racing cars with me (auto-x and friday night drags) as well as will help me work on my cars without qualms about it. She's a girly girl with manicured nails but isn't afraid to chip them either.

And of course, the obligatory pic

Where I come from, we'd call her a winner.

The only scale I have one of every model in is 1:64 (hot wheel size).

S30z: a 70's era Z Whiz that was custom made to look like my real life 280z
S130: late 90's era Johnny Lightning
Z31: this is the one that started it all. The one I mentioned in my story
Z32: late 90's era matchbox customized by a seller on ebay. upgraded wheels, 4point harness, custom interior, exhaust tips, etc
Z33: mid 2000's first edition of the 350z
Z34: 2009 first edition 370z. Love it because it matches my original 370z.

Here's another example, minus the 370z, but all from the same manufacture (Tomica). Haven't gotten around to buying the 370z yet but I will. Tomica limited collection, which is about as premium as your going to get with a hot wheel size car.

I'd think about it but no room. The spare bedroom went to my collections and the other spare room is where I game and keep my antique weapon collection. LOL. I wonder if I'll ever grow up but I'm just too busy having fun. :happydance:

I didn't see either of these in your pics. The red one is the newest and has Nismolike wheels.

You say that like I'd have a problem having either collection next to me as I sleep... :bowrofl:

I would sleep better HAVING a gun collection near by. :inoutroflpuke:

Refer to post #4. The 3rd picture is of all cars in package. On the right side second car down is the white 370z.

Refer to post #18. The picture of my 370z's grouped together. On the right side is the red 370z. It has gold wheels.

In your first picture you have two red 370z's. Are they duplicates or are there differences between them?

Thanks for helping too.

Ah, my bad. I misread antique weapons...

Dude, swords are even more BA. You're doing a really bad job of convincing me not to want this!

The joys of collecting. Great job. :tiphat:

Only a collector wants the red one with both gold and silver wheels.

I do slot cars and am still looking for a 370Z.

Ahhh you're right. I didn't see your red 370Z there. Also yours looks like it had drag radials or massive spacers on the rear lol

The other red car is a G37
