R&T pretty much got around that track around the same time with a slight edge on the cayman... like .03 or something. thats not owning a Z bruh. and the audi TT is FWD/AWD, so i am not throwing it in. The TT has more of a place with EVO/STi/335ix

The Z is not demonstratively faster than the cayman "bruh". It's about equal. It's not faster, though, and I'll bet dollars-to-donuts the porsche will best the Z at a track when not being driven by an automotive reporter.

And the Audi can be lumped in. It's a two-seater. Nissan directly compared it when marketing the vehicle initially, so if it's good enough for Nissan, it should be good enough for you.

Especially if you actually mean stock for stock. Z isn't doing much without an oil cooler....

I don't get what all the fuss is about.

370 with a few mods for around 2-4K will be in a very slim company of cars that cost more.

That's very little money than going out and getting a car that doesn't look as good (subjective yeah but come on just look at the Z... not compared to a 911 Turbo it just looks awesome), and costs a lot more for maybe better performance.

What cars can compare to the cost of a 370 with an Oil Cooler, Sway Bars, FI CBE, Break Fluid, UpRev, MAFs & K&Ns performance wise... ?

yeah but my general point is, a good driver in a Z with a shytty driver in a porsche + Time not good enough to consider own= drivers race.

Now back on topic.... **** da Fvckin media. We love cars, whether they approve or not. Our money runs shyt in the end. If we educate ourselves by actually testing sports cars in test drives... We will know whats truly good. and though true delta may be a small sample of ownership. It gives you the "real door" to true experiences in a mechanic shop or warranty issue. Less samples but more details.

So if a guy loves Camry's? He expects the z to have 6 cup-holders. If he loves Cadillac's...Why doesn't the z have 12 memory power seats? If he loves Mustangs... Why can't the Z have a V8... This isn't car reviewing.

Are they basing a car on its talents or your bias interpretation of a sports car. It's ok for a reviewer to express his preferences in order for the consumer to relate to the driver and understand why he would prefer a, lets say, "Mustang" over a Z. But it's another to compare the cars as if they serve the same performance purpose, when they don't.

At least mustang has camaro and challenger to show up. The genesis coupe can go 10k upmarket and battle the G37 and 3 series. In a way, the 2.0 and FR-S doesn't match but makes more sense due to them being priced equally and both being RWD 4 seat coupes.
The Z has no competitor in its class and can only be compared the Porsche Cayman S, Boxster and BMW Z4 over $20k upmarket, couble what the gencoupe deals with.... They can say the others are more refined but can't say they outperform the Z. So the Z needs to be underdogged by near non-competitors in order to keep the corporate sponsors happy. The Z is too unique in its price-point and other car companies are to scared to make a real competitor. Imagine GM's version of a Z? Or ford? Dodge maybe? lol.

The vette is something else... Japanese couldn't make a vette... Americans can't build a Z. And you can't review them like they are one of the same. BUT that's what american/british magazines do.

WE NEED TO GET CAR GUYS BACK IN THE CAR MAGS.
You should go test cars for a living.

I thought it was a fairly accurate review. The guy praised the Z's good qualities while pointing out some of its shortcomings. Overall, a positive review.

Then again, who cares.

Heck, if we want to throw up arbitrary times, the Cayman is nearly a second faster on the good ol' Top Gear Test Track.

How do you beat a 35,273 post? Sum up all the cars mentioned won't even come close to top that.
