Default Hard launch

Bear with me since I am new to the manual transmission... I am just curious how to hard launch this car. I know too much wheel spin is no good while no wheel spin will be slow too. Keep the slip ratio between 10-15% will get the max grip. Depends on the tire condition, I usually rev my Z to 3k rpm and dump the clutch. How people usually do at the dragstrip? Also, is dumping the clutch a proper way to hard launch a car? Will it damage the clutch and/or transmission?

Probably not a good idea to just dump it. Try letting the clutch out just until its about to grab then come off quickly while laying into the gas. Also if I launch on the street at 3k I will spin like crazy. 2-2500 seems to be okay but I also have Pilot Super Sports tires. These cars are very tricky to launch just keep practicing.

Doing a 3k dump isn't really bad for the clutch, its actually much worse to try and feather it while keeping the revs up.

This is correct. The worst thing you can do to your clutch is to feather it. Dump it to prevent additional wear.

3k seems to be the best launch RPM speed (for me) to avoid too much wheel spin.

I dump from about 3k and get nothing but spin and hopppppppp.

I find it better to rev up slightly(1500-2000rpm), and let out slower on the clutch then full throttle right after it hooks. You won't get the best 60ft times that way but it will help from burning your tires through the gears. This is with stock RE050As of course... I'm sure you could change the compound and raise the rpm up.

True!! ultimately it depends on the tires and width of your tires. I am running 285s Hankook v 12 summer tires on the rears which are sticky. I dont spin the wheels at 3k

My stock 19s would blow them down... especially after my intake/exhaust... I had a set of Pirelli Pzero and would spin them out in 3rd.

I have yet to master this "art" I did get the butt to swing out a bit last week, 90 degree turn to the right and kicked it a bit in second-woops- there it went! woot! fun!

Ok, I sorta get mixed opions here. As for my car, I feel dump the clutch gives me the quickest launch. I tried other ways rather than dump the clutch, but I don't get as much kick and enough wheel spin. Maybe I should try more? But for me after I dump the clutch, I didn't feel anything bad on my car. So I wonder maybe it's a proper way to do a hard/quick launch?

Do not try the other method of feathering the clutch, its incredibly bad for your car.

A dump is the best way. Without good tires, you'll spin them all the time. I have bald tires and slip all the time. I've not gone to a drag strip but I just get into first at 1K and then dump and floor it, whenever I'm feeling obnoxious.
