Swapped my Top Speed test pipes with Z1 pipes to see if it was part of my exhaust alignment issue. Sure enough it was. Swapped to the Z1 pipes with Momentum headers and everything lines up MUCH better then with Top Speed. Now there's less stress on my entire exhaust system so I don't have to worry about the flex pipes tearing from the engine torque. Before I had to use all my strength to force the bolt holes to line up. I was able to line up the bolt holes with literally 3 fingers with minimal force.

Started driving to work... Stopped for gas... Getting back in the car I see what looks like a little dust/lint but actually turns out to be a couple of hairline scratches on the door just above the body line.
And yeah, they look like dust/lint because they're down to the primer. No idea how that happened. Dr. Color Chip? They're WAY too small for regular touch-up. I'm tempted to see how well black sharpie matches Black Cherry. |

It's the Stillen fascia! You can get one new, painted and installed for almost the cost of an OS Giken LSD! lol! Do I regret it? Not one freakin' bit. This fascia makes the car. Oh, and I thought it turned heads before. Nothing but broken necks on the way to work.

Added some sound deadening to the hatch and doors. I used Raammat BXT II and Ensolite foam over everything. I ordered too much of both so I was able to double up on most places and triple up on the really "hollow" areas. This car had NOTHING from the factory.
Before: Installing BXT II Ensolite on top of the BXT II No pictures, but the doors are covered the same way. I actually went a little overboard on the doors and had to cut some back out so the panels would clip back on. I know it's not the prettiest install, but it was my first time doing any type of sound deadening work. Overall the cabin/road noise is exactly where I want it. I took it for a drive on concrete roads and the "hollowness" in the back and much of the road noise was muffled vs before. Cruising at highway speeds is much better, the cabin just has muffled tire noise. It was pretty tedious cutting and sticking, but it was worth it. If I had to do it over again I would taken more time and laid it a little neater, but it's covered up anyhow so no one knows....but me Last edited by b15; 05-10-2013 at 06:34 PM. |
