My dealer PDI'ing a 2013, sport tour nav for test drive.

Tomorrow i will be test driving a 2013 cuz i'm intrigued with the suspension. I need to know what is the difference positive or negative. I was able to inspect the Z's features and look at it but a non pdi'd Z cant be driven, and i had no interest in a non-sport...

Lets start with the refreshed look...

WHEELS. The Positive. Surprisingly, i came off impressed with the sport wheels. From a short distance its hard to tell a difference. But up close you see new attention to detail that wasn't there previously. Not a drastic improvement but a nice one none the least.
The negative... I expected 40th quality smoke on the sport wheels. They just look kinda dull so? I wasn't impressed with shine, brilliance or lack thereof.

BRAKES. Positive... The new red color is a slight improvement on darker color Z's but black resonates nicer on white and silver Z's. An improvement on certain colors.
Negative. The bleeder valve is exposed now, so maybe outsiders can easily mess with your brakes out on the road???

THE CONTROVERSIAL LIGHTS. Positive. They look more flush and less out of place on dark colored cars.
The Negative. On lighter colors, it looks like a novelty feature and kinda looks awkward. So color selection is key. It's not a selling point or detraction in person. But i feel its an unnecessary attribute increasing the price of the Z.

THE FRONT GRILLE. The Positive. Honestly??? None. Oh wait, on darker colored cars, the DRlights break the monotony of the UBER-boring front grille.
The negative, It looks very bland and 350z'ish and borderline boring. On lighter color cars the lights just add to the tackiness. the Z is very color sensative with this grill. black, blue and grey are safe as well as Magma red.

OVERALL, The new Z doesnt disappoint in the sport pkg option. I was also able to see a nismo. Paint quality looked so so but that could be due to the were partially wrapped still.

TO MY SURPRISE. The base 2013 wheels are a huge improvement. NOW THAT is something pics don't do justice. The new base rims make the z more respectable.

CONCLUSION. All this is just subjective and not important. But the update to this thread will be comparison to the new euro-shocks. Performance improvements sell cars. I hope to report positive things and i expect the most prominent update, the shocks to aid the Z. It's a major selling point on the Z.
I have mixed feelings on the Z refresh now that i see it in person. In pix it was 70% negative in overall look. but im 50% on it. Though i dont see it as a major improvement and nissan failed to excite. I don't see the 13 as a failure either. Maybe it may grow on me??? Maybe not???
Testing next.

Thanks.

Funny. I thought the opposite. To me they looked better on the lighter colors, as I felt they did not stand out as much.

It is still a 370Z. So all us with earlier models need to not become like 350Z drivers and turn on ourselves, fellow Z owners.

Even if they change model I'll keep my 2009 with 10,000 original miles almost paid for along time.

Upgrades can be done by yourself without the need on taking on a new loan and a lost on value on a trade-in or private sell.

I felt the actual grille is so boring looking, that even though i'm not a fan of the lights. It does one thing. Make it look less boring.
