They keep saying there faster than a z cause they got turbo

Depending on conditions and road, they may be faster. I mean, they're packing around the same power. I don't know what the weight is like. Both cars handle very well.

Before I bought the Z, I watched a review in wet weather between a Z and an Evo. The reviewer said the Evo was much more composed and probably faster, but that the Z was a lot more fun precisely because it was a little less controlled.

That's how I feel about a Z vs. a WRX.

I've had an evo and sti before the Z

I can attest to the handling. In all conditions those two cars are grippy as hell.

The evo gave an interesting feel, even though its weight is around the same, it has a very go cart feeling.

The STI has some nasty low end torque. Other than what i mentioned, i think the Z is better in every way.

They're quicker to 60, at least the '05 - '07s are due to the AWD you can just launch harder. Now in the quarter mile it's much closer, but the Z has the upper hand.

They are definitely fast cars! 3 of my buddies had STIs and 1 Evo

faster to 60, after that u will run away. my roommate has 1 and we play around often. even with his car being fully dyno tuned and making 320whp and im only making 293whp i can still outrun him on the highway. bellow 60 tho, dont get too cocky with those things. they can put a hurting on at low speeds

i love both types of cars... but who cares who is faster??? At least in convo. If it pisses you off? Take them to the track bruh.

There's always going to be a faster car. Just be happy with what you have.

Both have their pros and cons yes its faster but there's a 2.0L in there. They are not ever going to get into high HP numbers with out negative consequences. Where as a 3.7L has alot of room to grow from the 332 base. Then you have awd vs rwd and on and on. So you can argue with people to death on the matter or just know that both are excellent cars for difference reasons.

Lol actually its quite the opposite. The low compression boosted turbo has a lot more expansion capabilities vs our high compression 3.7 NA. Regardless.. speed isn't everything. Just be happy with what you have and enjoy the very linear power band that our car offer vs other brands.

I agree there will always be a faster car and this is not something to worry about... There are more important things to worry about, like getting rear-ended by some street racing asshat with crazy mods. :shakes head:

you'd be surprised. one of these 2 cars blows out ringlands at anything over 400hp and its not the z....

I don't own either car but I would think the STi owner probably feel the same about Z owner. Haha!

I don't know if I'd agree with that, unless your going to start changing the internals 350-400ish whp is the best your get safely. They have a static compression of 8:1 (low) but they are stock at what 13-14psi? To get to 400whp your going to running in the high 20psi. Which I think is pretty crazy.

I think we are in the 450-500whp ish range safely.

I can't help but think that if you are seriously in an uproar about STI drivers possibly being faster than you... you need to sell your car and get something that has ALOT less power. You sound like an angry child that has no business behind the wheel of any sports car because sooner or later you're going to do something stupid.
