370z/370z nismo parts?
hey guys,
going to be purchasing a 370Z (or Nismo) in the coming months, and had a quick question. do most/all of the aftermarket parts (mainly exhaust, headers, intakes, springs/coils etc..) that are for 370s also function on 370 nismos? Thanks, |

There is about 8K difference in price between the nismo and base model. If you are planning to change the exhaust, suspensions, wheels, intakes AND you don't really care about the Nismo bodykit, why not save 8K and spend it on mods.
In my case, I love the Nismo bodykit. And I don't beleive bolt-on mods will make me happy as I had all of them on a NA car before and still not satisfied with the performence. I am not touching my Nismo until I am ready to throw in the GTM twin turbo. Till then, I am very happy with the Nismo performence and look. |

btw - I've noticed it's way harder to find a base 370 in pearl white than it is to find the nismo. just thought it was interesting. still trying to decide between black and white though. my last car was black, but I really do like white also. they both look great on that car though.

If your not in a rush a number of people just order the one they want. Base is a better option for mods. No reason to pay for a VLSD or a Nismo Exhaust if your just going to sell it on ebay in a few months.

On most cars I'd agree on going base if you're going to mod, since most of the parts that differ are the parts you'll swap out anyways. With the Z though, it's kind of a toss-up, because you get Nismo's front configuration (the nose and undertray layout) which is a little bit different than the base, and seems like a better aero design to boot if you're tracking. I'm not sure if it's possible to retrofit, or exactly how many non-obvious parts under there differ (e.g. the little plastic bits in front of the wheel wells that the undercover attaches to, etc?). Obviously the rear wing differs too, but that's relatively easy to swap for if you care.
But yeah the Nismo exhaust/suspension/etc upgrades, you're going to eventually toss those. |

The 370z base and touring is like naked compared to the Nismo regarding performance, it will be useless to swap all the nismo stuff for other model... You gotta decide what you wanna really do because if you will mod the Nismo you going to end throwing out the oem parts (wasted money) So i would recommend you to get a base or touring and do the mods but if you wanna keep the Nismo stock go ahead. Remember that maybe you will want to change the exhaust and rims...Just a thought. |
