Who's stupid enough to do that kind of deal?

if it totals out to $15-16k. I guess he didnt get all that ripped. Its 50% of the purchase price which should keep him10% over depreciation, and they tax the 10% in wear and tear... as long as he is straight with mileage and NEVER HAS an accident? it should work out.
What sux though is the down. he could have owned a gen mustang, camaro, or something in the same amount of time with $100 extra bucks... Or even owned a used Z instead of lease

What I take away from this thread (so far) is that there are people out there that cannot appreciate a piece of art like the 370Z. There's gobs of diff cars out there, but the Z stands out and is an awesome machine. To 'hate' it or 'dislike' it, in my opinion is really hard, unless the are forced to drive the Z against their will and have come accustomed to driving in something 'way' better. People who do not appreciate a machine like the Z are lost/spoiled/crazy/whatever individuals who probably don't appreciate many other things.

I personally want to keep my Z and turn it into a beast, get a second car to drive around once I settle down. The Z may not have F.I. base headroom to play with, but it looks awesome, handles great (with a few mods) and is a blast to drive and basically has a lot of attributes that come for a lot more money on other cars. I think the value of the Z can only be appreciated if one understands what they've got, I don't want to be in any other car (meby a 911 GT3 RS 4 or a TVR T350C not sold in the USA) none of which I can afford, and I don't want anything other than those 2, so the Z is the best car for me as of right now

I agree with most of what you said Binary. I find it sad that a lot of so called car guys are really badge chasers, then cry when the badges they chase stay in the service department ( I still have love for Lamborghini and Porsche) . I love Nissan and loved Z's since i was a kid, the 370Z is more than i dreamed of. What a lot of people don't realize is that Nissan was focusing on cars much higher when they created the Z. The same can be said for the GT-R too.

On the video at 4:31 the FRS takes a turn. Is it slow motion? The grass moves around as he passes by.

At 7:11 the 370 takes the same turn. Certainly not slow motion. Clearly not savoring the moment.

Sitting in a Toyota 86 at the Bangkok motor show, I knew/could feel it was something special. That seems to come out when it's really being driven.

Saw a red one, black one, then a white one yesterday. All within the same couple of hours. I was just running errands around town.

All were frs. I always think, yep that body looks good.

Eventually we'll see them all the time, like 5.0's, and the charm will wear.

I do like the car though, for what it is, it's something I would buy if I needed a second car.

I have seen only 2 in my area. One of them regularly since the driver is a really hot asian girl, easily recognizable. Always by herself too. Just so happened today as I was leaving the bank this evening around 8ish, was pulling out and checked to make sure it was clear and saw one coming down the 3 lane road a good way down all alone, was in the lane that indicated it was going to turn onto the HWY, firgured why not lets see what type of metal the FRS is really made of. Pulled out and came up to the next light infront of it. Checked the rear view and it was the same girl. As we were sitting there she whipped out a camera and snapped a couple pics of my car. Light turned green and and we both preceeded to the next light to turn onto the HWY. It had 2 turn lanes and she pulled up next to me. Glanced over and she had the offset liscense plate and what looked like rota wheel knock offs of the CE28's. Light turned green, we both made the turn, hung back to see if she was going to get on it, sure enough she did. Hammered the Z and went right past her down the on ramp, had like 30 cars by the end of the ramp. Honestly what I thought the FRS would bring to the plate. Nothing more than a FWD motor only honda can muster. Did feel good she took a pic of the car. I have seen hers numerous times but never in the position to have both stretch their legs.

The 370 has like, 60% more horsepower...was that surprising?

Either way, I don't think she got on it as much as you think...30 cars would be ridiculous unless you are running some serious power, or it was a very long on ramp.

Man, you guys get bent out of shape over an opinion. I own a Z and I completely agree with his review. The Z doesn't have the greatest driving position for me. My Z doesn't inspire confidence when I push it hard in the twisties like my S2000 did either(both roadsters btw). Things get even weirder above 8/10ths in the Z roadster.

I can't go back to the lack of horsepower and torque though. I love the look, the comfort, and the gadgets. The weight is really the only thing that bothers me.

Nissan needs to allow the Z to actually fully open the throttle at will at any RPM and load(i.e., the classic 1:1 feeling). It would end up being "touchy" for some at first, but it is neck snapping fun!

I'm surprised it doesn't come with a switch for Sport or ECO mode to change throttle response, and R-mode that completely disables all this nanny stuff as others have described their experience with ETC disabled in the ECU.

With the 350Z, it's easy to whip the tail when tapping the throttle in 2nd at low speeds.

The 370Z's weight is right where it needs to be for cars that make noteworthy power and actually deliver the power to the ground. Why is it that we see stunt drivers absolutely ringing out the Z yet these car reviewers can't seem to tame the beast? I call shenanigans on this whole comparo and any other that has the Z against any lightweight econobox trying to be a sports car.
