If you can get an IS-F why not an M3? The IS-F is inferior to the M3, yes its a good car but the M3 is just slightly better in almost all aspects.

I'd say they are about the same on reliability and you have a full warranty in case something goes wrong. BMW has been producing the M3 for decades whereas Lexus is relatively new to the high performance sport sedan game. I'll take decades of R&D and experience.

I'll go with ISF myself , it's still rare to see one on the road plus the reliability you get from lexus. The 335 is lame looking and too many on the road possibly because its been out since 2007 unless there is an all new 335 on the pipeline.

I agree, but I'd rather drive the M3. Lexus would put me to sleep. If OP was considering an M3, that's my pick.
But he said he wanted a 335, and in that case my order is S5 335 ISF I know the Lexus is probably the best car, but it just doesn't do it for me. |

very expensive for what you're getting and hard to find, BMW wanted to keep it exclusive. I've driven on on a few occasions and its a lot of fun and a great car, has the Z beat unfortunately especially with that smooth gearbox. However, good look finding one south of ~$50,000.00.

ISF would be my top pick. Too many people have Audi's these days, especially in my area. Even the S models are common. BMW's used to be like that but Audi has replaced that fad. They are both good brands, its just so many people buy into the hype that they are the only good brands.
My brother had an 04 S4. Nice car he loved it, the only issue was when something broke the part was never instock because his was an S model and had to be special ordered and cost an arm and a leg and took a week to get in. Both the S5 and ISF will have this issue. Long term the BMW may be the better choice. |

335 IS no doubt pretty much a poor mans M3, that DCT transmission is great. That extra horespower and torque vs the normal 335I mid to high range is very noticeable (that extra 7 sec of extra boost mid range is really amazing), but good luck finding one of those as they are very limited and usually sell really fast.
