Poor fuel efficiency?

I would expect around 22 - 24 mixed driving with the occasional run through the gears. Unless you're driving a lot of stop-and-go that does seem awfully low. My '12

My '12 is still in the break-in period and I believe I've been getting around 24 mpg. As far as driving style/break-in I pretty much let it rev to close to 4,000 RPM every time I run through the gears.

Keep in mind that the motor in these cars is not making much torque at low RPM so it's not efficient there, at 2,000 RPM. What I'm saying is... I suppose maybe you could be getting slightly worse mileage due to short-shifting but less than 18 mpg seems pretty extreme and I expect you have an issue of some sort.
