With that being said, maybe it comforts you if I told you my Z has about 17.4 MPG. I drive about 20~30 miles a day, half street/half freeway. |

I've never bought a car for the mileage to be honest. That said I do keep track of it oddly enough. I bought my '12 roadster in May and was getting about 16 mpg (US gallons) to begin with. At slightly over 2k miles now it sits at 19 right now with my mix of freeway/city driving which is spirited to say the least. I'm out to have fun and the mileage doesn't factor into my enjoyment.
In short it will improve so don't sweat it and enjoy!

I drive about 70% highway and get between 21-23 usually. I agree sports cars are meant to have fun in...I was more conservative when I first got my Z as my last car got around 32 mpg, but the more you drive it, the more you will realize its more fun to use the HP and dive into those turns.

I drive the exact same route every weekday, and usually dont drive on the weekends. It ends up being right at about 400 miles a month, and I only have to fill up once a month. I think I get great mileage personally.
All you do is bitch and cry, and none of it is going to change the fact that you chose to lease a vehicle you dont like. I guess I shouldnt have put that gun to your head. Last edited by whoady4shoady; 08-11-2012 at 09:44 PM. |

My Z is netting me 18-19mpg because I drive 85% city. If it makes you feel any better, my co-worker's 5.0 Mustang is netting him around 16MPG for 65/35 city/hwy.

Damn, I would have thought he could have gotten at least 18 in that scenario. Do you know what are his normal shift points? I know from driving them, that you have a bunch of torque down low.

My 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 4 speed auto is rated 18 city, 25 hwy, 20 combined.
Using Torque Pro for Android and a $12 OBD2 bluetooth module I've been able to improve my combined gas mileage to over 29 MPG. It helps seeing your gas mileage as you drive and how easy it is to improve it by adjusting the way you drive. |

OP:
Welcome to the forum. The Z is sorta finicky when it comes to fuel economy. I used to get decent fuel economy in the awesome Killeen stop-and-go traffic and I ran my AC constantly to keep from passing out in the 100+ degree heat. I would say that I am getting about 13MPG right now while battling a pig rich condition. I am running a TT kit as well, so it is to be expected. If you can drive over 45MPH for a decent spurt, then you will get good fuel economy. If not, just have fun getting to the speed limit as quick as you can and just deal with it. The cops around here hate it!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to address you guy. You should really have looked before you leaped. My Z is fast. Perhaps your Z has an issue, which I doubt. I believe you have the issue. Check out your car, but more importantly check yourself. You made the decision...........deal with it and stop cluttering threads with your trolling!

if your looking for MPG..... people should not get a SPORTS car...... its called a SPORTS car for a reason... not a sedan. means its meant to be driven differently than the non sport cars of its class lol.
for me im getting 23 MPG on the highway. just looking at it in the garage will do a few things..... 1. give you whiplash... 2. make it seem like your getting Less MPG.....when parked.

I normally get around 12 MPG all city, hills, etc., and that means I enjoyed the fuel. Pay to play. I just got 15 MPG and I am unhappy since this reflects driving slowly, being stuck behind tourists. That is why 8 MPG at the track is so much fun.
