Rear View Camera: The Lazy Man's Blind Spot Fix
Anyone recommend any rear view camera's?
Crutchfield has a few cameras, although only a few of them have decent customer reviews. Any suggestions? I know its probably overkill, but as a precaution, I'd think that some car owners would rather have the rear-view camera as a safety mechanism. Martin |

Martin, adding a back up camera is always a great idea. as a 350Z owner, I didn't have any problem backing out in my 370Z. But I did feel a little nervous due to thicker rear quarter panel (slightly less visibility) in the 370z. So, I recently added an aftermarket nav and a rear view cam.
The cam I bought was not expansive at all and works pretty well. I was going for the JDM look as far as cam goes and here are the pictures JDM rear view cam (Japanese option. Not available in U.S.) Mine Socal 370Z is looking into another option which is Gentex back up camera. YOu can read about it here Gentex Backup Camera and Mirror Video

Thanks for posting this! I like your JDM camera location.
I am interested in the Gentex system. I like the display in the rear-view mirror, since I don't have Nav and have no interest in an aftermarket dash installation. I see the display/mirror offered a couple of places, such as http://www.brandsport.com/gntx-50-genk242.html for $180. Has anyone installed the Gentex system? Pics? Gotchas? |
