There hasn't been a single Z to break into the 10s yet.

There haven't been any (successful) FI'd Z's on the track.

There's no backing for your 1.15g claim. You must have some hella tires to pull that off.

Your ideas of potential make it sound like you are awfully deluded. I take it you've never done such a project yourself?

Seems like you are friggin clueless to the potentiality of the Z as a modded vehicle. you are not looking at the true comp-network it will engage and how well it will do. you are looking at basic corporate endorsed mag stats and rhetoric from lower life-forms who don't understand anything about what goes into cars.
The Z has technological advancements that may help change the future and aid the performance of all cars in general in the future while the mustang just has a really fast motor on a 8decade old suspension thats been tweeked with high tech springs. its been saved by ford learning a trick or two about balance.... you can thank mazda for that. But if it wasnt for the Z??? All these cars would just either be fast or good handlers. You wouldnt get both unless you paid 6 figures. The Z broke that mold in 89 and is a leader of power/handling combo's today. No stang gives you a Z's feedback, seating position and incredible ergonomics for premium driver focus. look under your Z and compare it to the muscle cars....

Man you are really straight talkin' out your azz troll. what do you really know about this car? How does it operate? what is the philosophy behind the Z experience?
what did you expect from the car when you bought it????

Honestly. I don't even think you own a Z. I think you're a forum hopper and just claims to have one for whatever reason you think you need to claim it. You own a 12 and 3 years of car magazines and tv shows didnt give you a hint of what to expect??? top speed, motorweek and various shows on SPEED didn't drop you a clue??? You're F.O.S. and i dont call you out any further than this because i will get penalized for it...

Make your next post credible or STFU... Thank you.

PS another one for Kenchan's ignore list:gtfo2:

there's no real need for continuity of this thread, but we do know now what the true competitor is doing next year. (The Porsche Cayman S). We know it will have more power on two less cylinders which kind of (hopefully) clarifies some of Nissans outlook for the Z considering. it copies everything porsche does on an economical scale. Not a bad thing to do imho... At least they don't design the car to look like a porsche, though they try to copy it dimensionally.
I hope they do a better job of that though and give the next gen Z a lower center of gravity. Believe it or not... my biggest complaint performance wise was the stock center of gravity before drop. But even with drop, the car can use a more porsche like lowness.

I guess dropping to a 4 can make a better low center of G happen? considering how much ot costs to make a truly compact 6. I just wish nissan could figure that out.

My conclusion on this thread is the same as my opener. I just want nissan to progress. but seeing the direction the cayman is going. I feel better about the next gen. If it wasn't for the poster that brought up, we should look up what porsche was doing... I would be much more skeptical of the next Z car. Especially with the way nissan execs are talking about the car needing to be more appealing to the overall public. I wasn't and am partially not convinced. But i see hope. May we all, will see a faster and more capable Z in our futures.

GODSPEED.

Agree. Good summary. It'll be fun to see what happens.

Like the Z at a crossroads.

Pretty sure it will be smaller, more efficient

But, how so?

Like Porsche sex/performance?

Or, like frs homogenization/castration?

Pretty an oversimplification of it right there, but it suits the crossroads imagery well lols.
