Roof tearing!
So i was washing the Z last night and noticed on the passenger side small "tear" or break right in the center above the b pillar. the b pillar was also loose and the part that snaps in or whatever was broken on on the back side of the pillar. The tear was not on the actual roof but the metal right above the window that goes from the mirror back to the hatch. Is this part made of alluminum also? Im still getting to know my Z just picked it up two weeks ago. All i can say is WTH.
ill post some pics later tonight or in the morning. |
yah better post some picts.

be funny if it's just overlay tearing... lol
|
yes its used 52k mi. also the ecu makes the high pitched ring that a lot of other z's and g37 have, but doesnt really bother me. other than that only light cosmetic damage such as a couple chips on the hood. im having trouble uploading pics im on the computer at work and they block everything. ill get them up eventually. thanks

I can't tell what that is exactly. Maybe the clear coat peeling. It's hard to really know. The aluminum parts on the car are the doors, hood, and rear hatch. Everything other panel is steel or plastic. I think that's part of the hatch, so it's aluminum. Maybe something happened with the previous owner.

I think thats the paint cracking and not the metal itself.
|
yea that looks like its the paint cracking and that's definitely the plastic part that goes from the base of the a-pillar all the way up and over to the hatch, not the hatch itself. maybe it was taken off for some reason at some point in time and damaged then?

mind has done that around the edge of the wheel well and bumper... yaya cheap nissan paint
|
Looks to me like the paint is cracking
Simple fix is get rid of the coupe and get a roadster... :stirthepot: Cheaper solution is find a good body shop that can repair it hopefully without a repaint |
That is the roof moulding it is plastic, the previous owner may have had a windshield replaced in which case both left and right side roof moulding have to come off and if you don't know how to remove them they will break.
