Little accident. Might have a leak.

I was drifting this back road that I always mess around in I tried to record it and got camera shy or something but I spun out and got sent into a dirt sidewall. I ended up on top of it I got my friends truck to pull me out.

Question is it looks like theres water leaking behind the right front tire. A buddy says its from the a/c but I still dont like that it leaks anything. Any Idea where this is coming from. Also there was power steering fluid but the canister itself looks fine(probably just leaked some from the jerking from the accident. I know this thread is worthless without pics but I just wanted to see if anyone had any idea if the water was from the radiator or something. Its 106f in Riverside right now and I don't wanna overheat the car. Right now driving the temps are at 220.

Ill post pics and the video later when I have time. Im about to go to work. Thanks in advance for any replies.

After watching the video a few times myself in slow motion the mistake I made was counter-steering for the next turn to late.

And sorry bout the bad quality Iphone pics.

kenchan 08-07-2012 04:23 PM

that probably is your a/c condesation. touch it and smell it to verify if it's water.

DjSquall 08-07-2012 04:29 PM

Sounds like your a/c water.

K so were still waiting on the video of you f*cking up

MattP725 08-07-2012 09:09 PM

Easiest way is to check the levels in the reservoir... if they are full and stay that way, you are just looking at condensation.

Obvious side note, maybe don't drift on a dirt road with a brand new Z unless of course you like paying to get things repaired. If you crack it up and are found to be grossly negligent, things start getting interesting with insurance.

Ubetit 08-07-2012 09:19 PM

It should be easy to tell what fluid it is.

binary0x01 08-07-2012 09:36 PM

before drifting, I'd prepare... really well, tires, breaks, fluids etc, like a track day.

and no dirt ... ever

you have to use an eyedropper and squirt it all along the black rubber seal that runs along the outside of your headlights. its really quite easy. I can make a DIY if youd like.

Yes please. I've gone through 4 bottles and I'm still getting air bubbles...

falconfixer 08-08-2012 10:20 AM

After seeing the video it looks like you came very close to having a very bad day.

I bet he also damaged the muffler bearings. Not to mention I've heard that Nissan will soon issue a TSB about defective muffler bearing relays - although I'm pretty sure you can just pull a fuse to cure this without having to spend $ on a new unit...

:D

mantella87 08-08-2012 01:14 PM

Just watching you drive on a dirt road is hard to watch. I feel bad for that car man... it deserves a better owner.

You are right. My apologies. I'll admit I did just change my blinker fluid the other day. I think I will send it out for analysis also.

I baby it more than you know lol a little dirt never hurt nobody

NitrousZ34 08-08-2012 10:53 PM

If that dirt hill wasn't there you probably would have flipped it down the hill.

Japanjay 08-09-2012 12:35 AM

Dude you are so holy **** lucky and IMO extremely ******* retarded. Do you have any idea what type of car your a driving? Do you not appreciate being able to own this car? To see you treat that car, even contemplate doing that on a NARROW *** DIRT road in a "Z" is a damn shame and only asking for trouble???? WTF are you SMOKING man????? I honestly am almost speachless at the abuse this car is given..... It aint no beater to take into the hills and beat to **** man in the gravel and dirt. You damn near killed yourself due to the cliff and lost your car. I doubt after the police report insurance would pay for that car to get fixed or even cover the totaling of it. If they did that would another damn shame.

Japanjay 08-09-2012 12:44 AM

Just showed the VID to my GF. You has worse to say.... She hopes to have a Z at the end of the year after riding in mine for a couple months now. She cant think of a better car interior, exterior, and performance for the value. She says you dont respect that car nor should be called or allowed to be an owner of this "Z".

Jasonle 08-09-2012 12:55 AM

Damn that was hard to watch lol. But anyways good luck getting it fixed

lhinojos 08-09-2012 01:11 AM

^I understand what your saying. And I agree it was stupid. That's why the video is called "lesson learned".I will never do that on THAT road again. But I disagree with you when you say I don't deserve it. I bust my *** at work to pay for the car. I worked hard for it. . Why have a car you can't have fun in? That's why I bought it. If you want a car for beauty, good for you. I bought the car to DRIVE it. And that's exactly what I intend to do with it.

lhinojos 08-09-2012 01:12 AM

BTW the car is fine it just had some scratches that I buffed out. Luckily that was the only damage.

mhcoss 08-09-2012 03:53 AM

Its pretty silly to be drifting it on dirt roads. I agree you don't respect the car.

whoady4shoady 08-09-2012 08:33 AM

While what he did was stupid IMHO, we have to remember it is his car and we didnt buy it for him. Unfortunately for his car, he can abuse it however he sees fit. Im just glad to see he and the car is ok. Like others have already pointed out, it could have been much much worse.

The only thing that really pisses me off, is that we pay for the outcome that luckily didnt happen in this situation, but does in other situations through higher insurance premiums.

So no leak?

Can we merge this thread into the "Should I buy new or used" thread? :stirthepot:

To the OP, you live and you learn man! You got very lucky this time, hopefully the next time, you'll go easier on it. I ****** up quite a few times before I learned to control this brutal monster.

To everyone else... Your opinion is nice & all, but I don't think you should be really bashing the OP this much. He's having fun, he's learning how to go sideways, and messing up is all a part of the game. Yeah so he's not driving the Z the way you think he should be.. So what? It's not YOUR car. I'm through 3 full sets of tires since this march. Does that make me an idiot too? Because I actually take this car to its fullest potential 110% of the time? Think about it...

Don't just judge a person by a clip of 10 seconds of their life. He didn't murder anyone. He's learning. And all of you here ****** up more than once in your life too. We all have.

Sounds like yours could be sold 1 owner, always garaged, never driven hard, certified preowned.:stirthepot:

Ubetit 08-09-2012 01:47 PM

I don't think we should give him such a hard time. He was on a road to nowhere and had a friend scoping things out. If he hurt someone, it was only going to be himself. I've done way dumber **** than this. Fortunately, I made it to be older and wiser (also wider).

I swear I think some of you think these cars have hearts and souls... It's a machine peeps. That is all.
