2016 Fuel Regulations and Sports Cars
U.S. Orders Stricter Fuel Goals for Autos - WSJ.com
Wonder why almost every manufacturer is switching engine architecture or touting smaller, lighter-weight cars within the next few years? It has something to do with the average MPG of the whole manufacter's line up We can expect: Turbos Smaller displacement engines Direct Injection More Hybrids (think CRZ) ******************** Think about it: Mazda SkyActiv Honda EarthDreams Nissan PureDrive ******************** Last edited by 370zbb; 07-31-2012 at 02:06 PM. |

We can see more horse-drawn wagons 2016 to average the MPG.

I'm guessing its not cafe standards as much as it is preparing for double price gas in the near future. $7 a gallon may make people not want to buy a unpractical car. Sports cars just don't produce in high numbers by our asian counterparts. But mustang and camaro, who sell 6 figure level mustang and camaro's annually will probably be taking the high tech approach to saving gas. While asians will be heading that way, just to boast better economy numbers and compete with better gas mileage american and/or german future cars???
I don't think the next Z will do much better than 21/30mpg. Which is not astonishing from where we are now... But I think nissan will have the first affordable ev sports car though which will drastically change the fuel efficiency scope of nissan as an overall average. |
