Sport pkg Sport mode
I told myself that I wouldn't regret not buying a sports package when I bought the car. For some reason I keep thinking about it once in awhile and it bugs me. I also don't really want to trade in my car and lose $10k or so just to get another one with a sport pkg. So my question is: When using the sports Mode in a MT, does it affect up shifting or just the down shift synchro? If it affects the up shifting, how does it do so?

It holds the revs up for you on upshift, allows you for smoother shifts
|
For upshifting, I didn't notice any difference whatsoever between my '09 coupe without srm and my '10 with srm. Downshifting with the srm is only really useful for the track. I leave it on because I get a kick out of the throttle blips downshifting. Heck, I paid for it so I might as well use it.

I also like having the LSD and larger brakes of the sport package. It's not as nice as an aftermarket parts but I don't really track my Z.
|
just get the sport package if you have the funds.
|
I turn off the S-Mode 95% of the time. The LSD is garbage, the brakes are good if you change pads and fluid, and the 19" wheels are okay. No way would I sell a non sport for a sport when you can get better parts aftermarket for much less.

Get a quaife or OS Giken LSD, aftermarket rims & a big brake kit, it will be a little more money, but way better than getting the sport pkg.

bad habit i guess, but it makes the car rev like crazy when i shift the stick back and forth in neutral lol |
I was a neutral stick shaker at first. SRM broke me of that habbit real quick lol. I leave SRM on all the time.

S-mode isn't really a sport mode... if anything? its a simplify easy shift mode on the manual.
That said... just get the sport pkg. car looks beautiful with it. |
