I'm also thinking Nissan will probably do away with the number designation and just call the car a "Z".

Remember that they have to warranty parts so that factors into the cost of factory forced induction and they have to train techs and get suppliers on line. They buy all that stuff and turbos and blowers are in short supply. Plus you guys in here would no doubt mod them for more boost. That leads to blown egnines and other issues. Audi for example took a bath on B5 S4 with blown turbos many times with no mods either.

Make a new 300ZX -- would use a smaller, more fuel efficient V6, add a bigger turbo or two, DI, and shed 200 lbs. Give me same power with less weight, more torque, and factory boost.
That would work, no?

I wouldn't be surprised.. the more I think about it, if it was just called a Z.. much how it's not longer a skyline GTR.. it's just a GTR

I am honestly a fan of this current body style.. along with almost every other z.. they do a good job there.. they just need to bring back the performance segment... like for real.. not just a half assed job...
tho again, I think they did a great job with the z34

I personnaly feel the next Z needs to benchmark the cayman S again as well as the entry level vette, NOT go downmarket and go against the brz, miata etc. they can bring back the silvia for that. |

Who cares if it's a smaller motor? Makes the car lighter and affordable (maintence). Upgrades would be cheaper also. As long as its reliable and you can throw anything at it power wise I'd be good to go. Make that baby all wheel drive and you will have a bad a$$ car.
