I somewhat disagree, the 370z def has some significant shortcomings right out of the box for a track enthusiast. most of them are an easy fix (minus the fuel starve) but it would have been nice it the car came wiht a real lsd, good brakes, and an oil cooler from the factory (not to mention a second pick up point in the fule tank so sweeping right handers don't kill the car).

IMO the 370 is better than the 350 in every way, but because the sales figures during one of the worst recession in history doesn't match that of 350, it's a failure. It just sounds like this writer hasn't done any real research within the Z community.....or any group into cars for that matter. The Z was and is marketed towards the average "working man." The 370 just had bad timing, especially when the working man's chances of being unemployed became that much more likely.
