I somewhat disagree, the 370z def has some significant shortcomings right out of the box for a track enthusiast. most of them are an easy fix (minus the fuel starve) but it would have been nice it the car came wiht a real lsd, good brakes, and an oil cooler from the factory (not to mention a second pick up point in the fule tank so sweeping right handers don't kill the car).

Or if you want to stay in the Nissan family, a Leaf, Versa, or Sentra (although the last two aren't as high in MPG as Leaf/Prius)

The 370Z can hit 60 mph in 5.1 seconds on a good day, but modern sports cars are almost all in the sub-5-second range. Moreover, the 18 to 19 mpg city and 25 to 26 mpg highway is really dragging Nissan down in the CAFÉ regulations.

does that mean its going to be faster and better mpg?
The 332 hp is ok for now. And just ok. The 276 pound-feet torque is lame. I just read an article on the next gen IPL g coupe. It's gonna be a v6 twin turbo rock 530hp! Since the G and the Z are like cousins, I doubt(also hope!) the next Z is going to be turbo charged!

It'd be interesting to see if Nissan withholding the Z car from the market for a couple years would then stimulate demand later on . ? . .

It does come with an oil cooler now...and I thought they fixed the brake issues by adding better venting. It would have been nice if they had it all along though.

I know it has it's fair share of shortcomings, but to say "the 370Z was a disappointment to most enthusiasts and it really is a far cry from the Z-cars of yesteryear" is uninformed jiberish. IMO the 370 is better than the 350 in every way, but because the sales figures during one of the worst recession in history doesn't match that of 350, it's a failure. It just sounds like this writer hasn't done any real research within the Z community.....or any group into cars for that matter. The Z was and is marketed towards the average "working man." The 370 just had bad timing, especially when the working man's chances of being unemployed became that much more likely.
