Trade in my Z?
Should I trade in my Base 370z Manual 2010 with 22K miles for a Nissan 370z Roadster with Touring & Sport Package (also manual).
Well Long story short. My car about to be 2 year old in 2 weeks. My brother went grocery shopping and accidentally reverse and hit another car. 50/50 fault it has some scratches and a piece of my tail light broke off. Thinking about trading it in to get a nice roadster. Should I? The dealer asking for 41K, hopefully I could get it for 40K out the door. What you guys think my trade in value will be with the car, even though there is a little scratch mark to my rear bumper? |

I love you.
Get what you want. If you want a Roadster, who's stopping you?

You'll really like the upgrade from the base, and if the roadster is something you really want, I say go for it also. I also agree, 2012 not 2013
Get that "new car" feel again

Did you check what the Kelly blue book trade in value? Also when you in tell them that another dealer offered you more for your trade in, they typically meet you in the middle but not always.

As a trade in, I think that's what the dealer will give you, 22K tops (they may start lower and will always low ball you, but hey that's their job) and if they give your more for your trade in, the price of the new car, will be higher. I say, sell it on your own, I think you can get 3 grand more even with the scratch. As for model year 12 or a 13, what appeals to you more? 12s may be in short supply, so getting the color & options you want, may be limited. Also, 13's may have internal upgrades far more pleasing than what the brochures & spec sheets say. Go to the NAGTROC Forum and read all the rave reviews about the 13 GTR's suspension versus the 12. Is it possible they put some of those magic things into the 13Z (Euro tuned)? As far as looks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Regarding the sports package Z, it's a beautiful car but the looks have not changed from 2009 to 2012. For me, I prefer the different look of the 13 better. Immediately a Z enthusiast will look at it and know it's a 13. A non enthusiast will still think it's a Porsche. Thus I ordered one and have been waiting for two months now. Either choice, you can't go wrong so enjoy the process and have fun driving your Z |

So, OP, my advice to you is to go to KBB.com and value your trade-in and then go to NADAguides.com and value your trade in and work from there. Plus, he asked if he should wait for the '13, so... That was one opinion. I snapped up a leftover '12 at 0% while I could for the very same reason- I don't know if I'd call the 2013 ugly until I see it in pictures but I'm not a fan of the LED strip or the new wheels thus far. |
