if they can make something cool enough and be awd, id be all over it. I need a winter car. the first picture looks pretty decent, the other ones looks like mini coopers...no thanks.

partially agree based on brand... id take the subaru. i stopped reading after fwd. how can they use the words "compete with frs" with an fwd.

going further into this thread....

nissan should use the juke engine and Z BASED transmissions to make a small sub 2800lb l awd coupe rating 250 turbo horses.

We'll see more and more of these sporty coupes coming out as all the major manufacturers realize they somehow overlooked the gap in the market. I'm glad it's coming out and they can call it whatever the hell they want as long as it keeps Nissan going and finances development on the next gen Z's and GT-R's.

The only thing that appeals to me on this car is the HUD. I also had to laugh a little when I saw "Nismo" written on the side of it.

But really Nissan already has a "sporty looking ish" FWD coupe. When I think of a cheap RWD sporty car I think the Miata has that covered.

If this car is great ONLY cuz it has turbos... we should all have GTI's, velosters and Mazdaspeeds just cuz they have turbos. then the gencoupe 2.slow is better than the Z cuz it has turbos and rwd

As a ordinary DD this works as a car that's fun to drive... cool. As an FR-S challenger? less torque band, no turbos and all... you will never duplicate the responsiveness of RWD... not to mention cornering, potentially the most important aptitude in performance driving. This thing will be a great car to compete against cooper and gti. imho... it should be a versa sport, not a mini Z.

I feel like a lot of you missed the point that it's primarily being made for China and IS NOT COMING TO THE US!

the article said... small amounts may go to europe and is being considered for the american market. considered doesn't scream it will come to the U.S., but doesn't negate it from coming either.

So in the event of that small possibility? im just saying...

Direct quote from MT
"China is thought to be the car's main market, but Japan and some European countries are destined to receive small batches as well, with the U.S. still under consideration."

This car may be cheaper than those cars, and may come in awd.
