Awd ?
As with the GTR....... How does the the AWD system function having a rear tire height that is .06% taller than its front tire? My first guess is that this isn't enough of a difference to matter but it works out to be about 5 revolutions per mile of difference. Enlighten me please. The reason I ask is because I want to put a set of 370 wheels and tires on my wifes Juke and I think it has the same AWD system as the GTR......

All the tires should be the same in an AWD vehicle. I had to put a different size of tires about .06% taller also on my old lady SUV and the dealer was refusing to install them stating it was AWD.
Anyway I had to proof them wrong after a long wait and argument, long story.

The big difference with the GTR is the way the AWD is set up.
The ATTESA E-TS is pretty unique, and during the vast majority of the time, ~98% of the power is going to the rear wheels. You will actually see guys throw ATTESA codes when running mismatched tires, or if they are driving in such a way that they are seeing a pretty even tq split. On a car like a WRX, you have a viscous coupling F/R that will overheat and grenade itself if you mismatch F/R. On the GTR, you are looking a slightly increased clutch wear, and it really is only ramping up wear when it is actually engaging AWD. The combo of a very small difference combined with how infrequently power goes to the front wheels means that you really don't see much extra wear. |

The GTR is powered by FRIEND COMPUTER. Literally everything in that car is computer controlled. I got to play around with one at Carlisle and the interior (I really want to call it a cockpit) is just ridiculous.
I have heard stories (3rd hand) of people with GT-Rs messing with wheel sizes etc and having problems but who knows. |
