Leave the freakin 370z alone it's perfect for me the way it is the price is just right for this car and i don't want it to get any cheaper so those high school boyracer will have a bit of a hard time messing with the cars look at least for the first 4 years of its release.

Why not just create a whole new category of light inexpensive car with 4 cylinder and turbo to back it up or just bring back the fuuuukkkiiiin 240sx. I dont want the z to be on the brz category!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would personally hate to see a 4 cyl Z and honestly wouldnt trying to aim the Z at a lower class of people price wise make the G have to do the same since there basically the same car??? What would the G do cut the V6 as well????

Sure, a lighter- more fuel-efficient Z would be good for our times. A turbo 4-cylinder making more horsepower than the 370's 3.7 liter sounds good.

I think they should keep the character of the Z the same though: kind of a brute with precise handling and sports-car styling. This is where Nissan differentiates the Z compared to a Hyundai Genesis or Scion FR-S. in its character.

Agree on the first paragraph.

Regarding your 2nd paragraph, that's exactly why I'm purchasing a current Z. If in the future, Nissan comes up with a much better Z, then it's time trade up and get it. If not, then I know that I'll be more than happy with the current Z.

love how few 370s there are out there, and i hope they do go with a cheaper more accessible car so i wont feel the need to upgrade when it comes out. I would own the Z at its pinnacle

No matter what the price point, kids won't buy Z's and vettes all too often for one major reason. Kids want to haul there friends around in there cars all weekend. Seating for more than two is as important as power. So most teeny boppers go for mustangs, camaros, challengers, bimmers etc. Anything that has room to carry people and junk and kegs in the trunk, while pumping out horsepower. Handling is secondary to teens.

Or maybe the salesguy thinks the little gadgety torque meter is a battery meter. Salesguys are dumber than dirt.

for the most part yes. typically they are not "car guys". you can find those in the back turning wrenches and occasionally, the guys at the parts desk

lol went on a test drive the other day and the salesman said, "I have very little knowledge about this car."

I was impressed by his honesty, but that doesn't help me judge a car correctly, if he can't answer important questions. :shakes head:

Salesmen need to ba able to answer serious questions about price, availability, financing, etc. The buyer should know all the technically important answers before he or she even goes to look at a car. Asking a saleman about technical aspects of a car is akin to asking the the accountant of HR person at your office to help with your latest computer problem. :D
