I loathe vandals

Found this nugget of joy the other day. Located on the left quarter panel right between the hatch and the wheel well. Looks like someone tried to jam a key or other pointy object into the car. Looks much worse in person and I'd love a few minutes with the assbag that did it:mad:

Sucks...

Couldn't be a rock chip? Hard to see from the pic

KaienZ34 07-11-2012 09:33 AM

Just like they said in Pulp Fiction. "I wish i could have caught him doing it. I would have been worth him doing it if i could have caught him doing it."

Zenki370 07-11-2012 09:36 AM

That does suck, couldnt be in a worse spot. Looks like a big rock chip. I have something simular on the front end of my car with the same tear in the paint. I dabbed some touch up on it and forgot about it. Im going to respray the bumper or change it anyway eventually

falconfixer 07-11-2012 09:37 AM

I want to convince myself its a rock chip but it's a staight on gouge (I know hard to distinguish from pic). If it's a rock chip and judging the angle of the dangle it must have been fired from the grassy knoll.

Gonna run right under $500 to fix.

Haters will hate, and make YOU pay for it! jerks.:shakes head:

Singapore's got it right... Caning

tjlazer 07-11-2012 09:59 AM

I don't know, if someone is going to do something they usually do more damage usually by keying and making a long scratch...

birdmanx1 07-11-2012 10:06 AM

Could be worse... could have been a parking lot incident or someone leaning against the car. I've had someone vandalize my 300ZX, pretty much the whole front of the car was keyed in.

BB Gun?

mantella87 07-20-2012 12:04 AM

I don't know man... looks like it could be a rock chip. It's not impossible. I have a rock chip on the flat surface right under my passenger side door, down to the primer. And I have a real beauty on my front fascia that went through the clear bra and paint... but that's part of owning a car that you actually drive. ~$500 is NOT worth it dude... just touch it up.

kenchan 07-20-2012 07:04 AM

Sucks. Sorry to see this falcon. :(

w0rM 07-20-2012 07:28 AM

If it was a vandal, I hope someone stabs him in the eye.

slumpey 07-20-2012 08:09 AM

could be a lot worse, but still something you don't want to see happen.

falconfixer 07-20-2012 08:42 AM

Vandal, rock chip, boggie man who knows but I'm glad to say it's getting taken care of. Some folks at work called me anal and not to piss money away fixing it but I guess I'll be anal about a car I love :driving:

Yeah, if it was Kia, I'd say you were being anal. It's a Z! Not fixing it would be like having a supermodel girlfriend with a wart on the end of her nose.

I'd have fixed it too. Whatever it costs.

Cmike2780 07-20-2012 08:58 AM

Doesn't look like a rock chip to me. Some def did it, but I don't know if it was done on purpose... like they might have accidently hit it and ran away. Still a d-bag move.

Yea my buddy just recently had his Carrera keyed at his work while 99% sure who is responsible. I don't even like to think of myself in his position. The man definitely has a lot of patience and restraint.

kenchan 07-20-2012 10:46 AM

your friend could contact his insurance and police and have this 'person' questioned... just in case.

I wish I had those things.

I'm sure he's contacted his insurance, however I don't know if the suspect was questioned. I also don't know exactly what the story is other than the guy is already in deep sh*t due to other unrelated crap going on at work. Deep as in potentially worse than just losing his job.

Knowing you though, you probably deserved it :p

EazyD 07-20-2012 01:18 PM

It cost me only $200 (including loaner car) to fix this:

:icon17: I probably did Andrew as much as the guy whose butt I would have imprinted "Made in America" with my boots had I caught him in the act (Forgive the huge run-on sentence) :p I will make a recommendation for a blue Z owner with advan wheels somewhere off of Edmunton Ave ;)

That came out perfect. I'd do the same to mine, but the problem is I have a clear bra. The one real rock chip I have went right through my clear bra on my front fascia and down to the primer. What an eye sore... clear bras are great but they are a nightmare when they are defeated.
