Default Anyone Use Regular Gas?

Does anybody have experience with extended use of regular gas in a 370Z Base + Sport? I know they say that gas prices are down, but out here in northern Kalifornia, premium runs 25-30 cents more than regular and it peeves me every time I fill up. I wonder if I can get away with the cheap stuff?

You can, however your knock sensors will detect lower octane and retard timing and reduce fuel economy.

25 to 30 cents? What does that add up to?

Dont get frugal man. if thats your thinking you should of bought a civic or corolla

.25 x 18 gallons, is another 4-5$

I bet your motor will probably explode before you can accumulate any savings.

It blows my mind, that people actually calculate **** like this. How about dropping that starbucks coffee or mc donalds coffee 2-3 days out of your week?

A Z is not an economy car. Any car I have ever owned that had a "Premium Only" requirement got premium gas every fill up. My weekend car prior to the Z was a Mits Eclipse GT. The only time is did not get premium was just after Katrina and there was no premium available in my area for about a week. So I went with mid-grade.

If the cost difference of premium grade gas is an issue, there are plenty of cheap 4-bangers available that run just fine on the cheap gas.

Please don't do this for the above mentioned reasons. Also, with dropped performance and MPG you might even be spending more.

Give me your email and I'll paypal you the difference in cost

Preimum is all I use. I would be concerned using anything less long term.
