I think the car is meant for the 25 years old initial d fan who never saw the hochiroku new

Expected from such a light FR platform. Are you comparing it to the stock Z or your modded Z?

Compared even to a stock sports package Z. Even my stock base + touring felt like it had more grip than the BRZ I drove, but in that car ultimate numbers aren't the goal and I respect that. It's just not for me

It should have more grip. They put tiny tires on the brz to keep it fun.

MouseZ, I took a test drive in one. Wouldn't call it a daily driver, but more of niche vehicle that's fun to drive on a mountain/canyon run or possible autocross.

Why not a daily driver? Gotta work to get in & out of the car, seats not really all that comfortable, interior looks cheap, car is light weight & firm so you feel all the potholes & bumps.

My idea of a daily driver includes some comfort and fun to drive personality. The BRZ/FRS only has the latter.

I just read a "Motor Trend" article on six cars and the top two results were, #2 FRS, #1 BRZ. Two great cars similar to a Miata. But the Z is an upgrade in performance and amenities.

Yeah, that MT article is crap. I read it, too. That's the one where the Mustang bests the cars in every conceivable performance category and loses.

I don't take the opinions of those magazines seriously. Or else I would have never bought a 370z.

I needa test drive. No one is keeping them in stock here in DFW. They are just filling in all the pre-orders, pretty much. I think dealers are trying to do a nissan and make you order a BRZ/FRS without a test drive...

Sounds like my guesstimation was right. Sounds like the perfect car for puerto rico.

I guess I need a test drive. I have been on the ft86 forum and found that the GT86 cost as much as the base model Z in US.

Ha ur so right. Remember the C&D article between the Camaro RS and genesis coupe 3.8. The gencoupe wiped the camaro all over the floor and flushed the camaro down the toilet in performance. But the camaro won the comparo for Gotta have it factor. Yeeeaaah Right.
As far as the Z goes... they have really found a way to make the Z sound like a POS in many a article. Maybe it does suck to need almost $2,000 to be track ready. But track readiness aside. As a road package and handling package. Nothing with this much power compares imho.

cossie1600 07-05-2012 08:01 AM

BRZ is so slow that you don't need to spend the $2K to beat it....

I agree, the z can be daily driven or turned loose at a track, and it's fun in both situations.

About a second slower than a JDM Gymkhana spec 370Z. Not bad for ~130hp less.
