370Z vs GTR whats the pros

Oh, and I got sick and tired of people that know NOTHING about the GT-R asking me why I got an AUTOMATIC instead of a MANUAL!

There are a lot of ways to afford an expensive car.. You can:

1. Just kill it in pay
2. Save up a good DP, reducing payment to "reasonable" levels
3. Have all other expensives very low
4. Born into money/married into money

I did it with a combo of 1&2, but I have a friend who graduated into a high paying engineering job that did it with #3 by living with his parents for 3 years after college.

Now with that being said & I am going on a limb here that if money wasn't an issue as FairladyZ stated "if we threw money out the window", then most people would buy a high-end car & probably a GT-R over the Z. This is assuming that all your finances are in order, or taken care of (kids education, your/wife's retirement, house & etc). If your finances are not in order (or taken care of), then this would be a little be foolish. In order for me to even consider about spending $100k +- on a car I would have to be making $250k a year at least IMHO.
I honestly dont think I would maybe my perspective is a little strange. Dont get me wrong I would love to drive gtr (as well as a couple other cars nsx forester STI) but I dont think I would want to own one. I have a lot of family overseas and by there standards they think im wealthy ( dosent feel like it ) I just would rather do other stuff with my money. After being laid off and having to work crappy jobs just to keep my family a float I realize that some of the material things that are cool really dont mean much its a lesson Iwill never forget. I love cars and thats fine dont know if I would own themall I dont wanna worriy about my R8 getting a scratch or my LFA getting stolen. If things would be taken care of I can find more than enough enjoyment in the cars in 40 grand range. And if I buy used there are alot of cars I can buy (sheesh C5 zo6 at 17 grand is quite nice i just need to upgrade the interior and im set) If I must drive ferraris and GTrs and such I will go to one of those schools that let you drive them all and get it out of my system. Not knocking anyone for there choices just letting you know mine and how I think.

You are absolutely right. One actually seeing & being through some hardship will certainly be an eye opener. I agree that when one gets older he/she has more responsibilities, life changing events that goes on in one's life, then their actual needs/wants drastically change. I know that the more expensive the car is the more anal & paranoid one will actually be. I would be furious & probably be a Freak-out Freda with a high-end car driving on the freeway, or parking it somewhere.

IMO when buying a car (especially sports cars) your employment should not be what determines if you keep it or get ride of it. If that is the case then this car is just outside your means and you should have looked into something more affordable. Or just save so that you own the vehicle.....

Would you also say that no one should buy a house unless they could pay cash for it?

Think on a much broader scale.

never lived in a mansion ( and dont want to) worked hard for everything I own. been laid of 4 times and currently work 3 jobs (underemployed). When you dont pay back there eventually consequences bad credit ect... I see it on the streets of DC all the time and I have hurt my own credit by not paying things back on time. Alot of people want what they want now and dont have the Patience to wait for it.I admit it I have done this in the past but these days if I dont have the money for it I wont buy it the only way that I would consider breaking that rule is in a medical emergency. Example my wifes car died at 200,000 miles I only had 3 grand so I bought a car from my cousin for 3 grand.
