sounds like what happens when you're off the accelerator and push the clutch in.

when the car is coasting like that, the wheels are driving the engine. it's a high compression engine, so there's a lot of pressure built up through the powertrain.

when you push the clutch in, you're severing that link. that's why you feel and hear that "bang". it's loud, but it's normal. the 350 and 370 have a VERY loud clutch and tranny.

I would suggest, however, to not cut power completely like that before you clutch in during normal driving. obviously if you're in a shopping center or something you'll be shifting this way, but keep a little bit of gas going when you push the clutch in during normal roadway driving and you won't experience this as much.

The clutch and transmission i've learn is very finicky. It wants you to drive it a certain way.

You will get use to it and the noise will decrease significantly, but like he mentioned a lot of people have the noise. I personally do too.

Usually when I am off the accelerator and I go to clutch I push it in gradually not suddenly. When I clutch in gradually I never get the noise.
