:rofl2: Yes this is a also a major factor, but red does seem to attract a lot more attention then other colors. And thats not just on the Z, almost any sport car for that matter.

I think the nicest compliment was one that wasn't said. I was on the highway just this past weekend and was comfortably cruising at around 70 because of all the summer traffic. Some guy came along side me in a Maserati and reved it up like he wanted to race me. I didn't bite though with all the traffic. I'll take the looks of my 370Z any day but I'll have to admit that the Maserati sounded sweet when he reved it up. The fact that he recognized my Z as a sports car to reckon with was a compliment to me.

Best compliment for my 240z, guy left me a note on my windshield. That was first for me, glad I made someone's day.

For the 40th, I had some guy tell me, he was in love with my z. And that I made it his goal to own the exact same car someday... Reminds me of me 8 years ago and now I own my car.

Sweet. I like your combination of cars. It is somehow very familiar.

Bucketlist2012 07-08-2012 12:35 PM

I had a friend who was king of the Z cars since the late seventies...Some of the best 240Z's you would ever see...A mechanical genius with everything and a Certified Nissan Mechanic..He was the guy you went to when you needed your Z repaired..

Sadly alcohol and meth took it's toll on him..Your 240Z's remind me of a better day long ago, when he ruled the Nissan world.

I haven't seen him in years.

One can be on that road to destruction all too easily. I was on it and in 2 weeks or so will be celebrating 12 years of not being on it.

What sweet cars to still have..I choose to have a Z/28, but a 240Z would be my next choice..

WOW, that note is super cool and your 240 is jaw dropping shika805

I think daily whenever I'm stopped or walking back to my car, someone will compliment me on the car etc

Sometimes its even whats not said thats flattering, like just driving and having people rubber neck, thumbs up or stare as they go by...my other half witnessed this yesterday and she was like

"Seriously?? you love this don't you!?"

Me: "yes...yes I do" :)

Good work man.

SurfDog 07-08-2012 01:14 PM

I have covered parking off the street in San Francisco (rare and expensive). One day the lady above my parking spot had a water leak and the drywall above my stall began to melt.

An older woman who has the spot a few down from me came knocking at my door and said:
"Hey Cliff, I have been totally lusting after your awesome car, but its about to get all messed up. I parked out in the street so you can use my spot till they fix the leak. you can lend me the keys sometime to thank me" (FAT CHANCE! lol)

Wow.

1. Totally cool neighbor to come warn me and help me keep the sludge off my hood.
2. No, before you ask (perverts) she is not hitting on me. Nor is she a "Cougar"
3. What a cool complement that she was willing to battle the street parking to help out my 370.

Congrats to you both! I've seen a lot of friends go down that road and it's difficult to come back through something like that.

Glad to hear this..i assume you are talking about alcohol and not meth..
And you say most never make it out?

I did some volunteer work for the Samaritans..a suicide prevention organization and as part of my training I had to go to an AA meeting but not let anyone there know my true purpose was training not treatment.. I will NEVER forget the stories the people told in front of the group about what alcohol had done to them once it took over their lives.. unbelievable how some had so much and lost it all...but I suspected there was something deep in their psyches and drug addiction was their way of coping with it..

Very sad..but glad to see some here have broken the addiction..

I think everyone should see Intervention on the Learning Channel..you can talk all you want to people but only when you actually see drug addiction do you really realize its horrors..

My son ran away when he was 14 and lived for two months among the crackheads..he tells of people getting down on their knees crying and begging the dealer and hugging his calves for just a bit more and being told to get the money any way they can..and they did......,.and once seeking three guys smoking meth...suddenly they run out and turn on each other after accusing each other of holding out on the other...then they got down in the carpet carefully searching for the slightest bit more..

He never got hooked and his kid has been well instructed on the dangers of even the slightest bit of drugs...

Sadly Charlie, I was talking about Meth... 7 years

What the hell was I thinking, I will never know..But I don't know many who just stop and move on to a very successful life..I am one of the lucky one's..

In the last ten years, I bought a Home, Cars, funded retirement, ect...My priorities have changed from getting high, to living like i should have been.

Tough to share this, but the truth is the truth, and I have to stand in the truth..They say that it is "one day a a time"..not for me...

I am so done with that life, I don't ever want to go back..No more addictions, except cars, making money, and enjoying life...:tiphat:

Oh and being a posting whore...Almost 1000

Bucketlist2012 07-08-2012 03:56 PM

Whenever a dude sees my Z and "fake" yawns so that he can look away or turn his girlfriend's head...yeah that's a compliment to me. :happydance:

I agree, when/if someone says that type of thing about my car, I just take it as " I'm sorry it's not your car... It's mine ... Sorry for your luck " what else can you take it as? Lol

One reason I chose gunmetal grey. Red, yellow, and black seem most ticket-prone. Just a subjective opinion.

I think every person should see that show several times so they have it really brought home to them what can happen..although so many young people think' It can't happen to me"

The one of the young girl drinking gasoline was really bad but not as bad as the drug addicted..at least she was not wild and crazy..but she did damage her system.... but I absolutely could not watch the one of the woman drinking her own urine until I realized that the poor woman had cancer and thought this might cure her..

And then there was the truly bizarre tale of the guy in love with his car...if he ever got a Z and started posting under "What did you do with your Z today..It would take that thread to a whole new level!!

i get a lot of thumbs up and sick ride bro from greasy sweaty doods but never from a pretty lady. :(

Mick_12Nismo 07-10-2012 04:51 PM

Fueling the car this morning and a pretty young girl working for a local utility asked "What kind of car is that? I've never seen one before. That is BEAUTIFUL!". Totally made my day!

doda74 07-10-2012 08:19 PM

When I first got my car last year, a young gal in a civic pulled up next to me at light and said, "your car is f@#king sick", while her drunk passenger told me how much he hated me.
I remember smiling ear to ear from that.
