Best one I ever got with the Z was "nice Porche".
I wasn't impressed. |
Last night going thru a drive-thru I had to wait for my order and the whole time, I could see the 15 year old boy eyeing up the Z, but he was trying not to be that obvious. When he gave me the order, he finally had to say, "that is one amazing car, sir, really amazing!" I thanked him and told him I appreciated the comment. On the way out, I had to give him some "Berk" exhaust note to say thanks again :tiphat:.

random sexy asain chick in the grocery store lot "That is one sexy car!" My dumbass was going through a rough break up at the time and it didn't occur to me to hit on her then until I was half way done shopping...idiot...
I had some random lady follow me home one day after picking up dinner. I didn't notice until I parked in my spot and was getting out of the car. She pulled up in front of me and the window rolled down. I was thinking great some ahole thinks I cut them off or something like that and wants to yell at me. Turns out this lady (late 40s early 50s) has seen me around town numerous times and really wanted to tell me how much she really loved my Z. I was pleasantly surprised but a little weirded out too that she followed me home. I was vacuuming my car at the local gas station last year. All of a sudden I hear wheels squealing like crazy, yes over the vacuum, so I look up and a car is pulling a hard U turn in the middle of the road and it zooms up into the gas station next to me. Guy drops the window and proceeds to tell me how hot my car was, and then drove off normally lol. I went to cars & coffee in Hunt Valley not to long ago and the event ended so I went to grab some breakfast with my friend, walking distance so I left the car where it was. When we were walking out my car was surrounded by close to 30 members of a harley bike club. I wasn't exactly sure what was going on at the time, and there was no way I was walking over there with them surrounding my car. So I watched from a distance and they were oggling my car lol. Never in my life would I thought harley riders would have been drawn to the z. I was happy my car was in one piece when they left. |

1) Never pass up an opportunity. I hope this is a lesson learned. I had some random lady follow me home one day after picking up dinner. I didn't notice until I parked in my spot and was getting out of the car. She pulled up in front of me and the window rolled down. I was thinking great some ahole thinks I cut them off or something like that and wants to yell at me. I was pleasantly surprised but a little weirded out too that she followed me home. 2) Can anyone say "Cougar"???? These are the one's with all the experience so again, lesson #2 learned. 3) I think he was gay (not that there's anything wrong with it). Lesson #3 learned. I went to cars & coffee in Hunt Valley not to long ago and the event ended so I went to grab some breakfast with my friend, walking distance so I left the car where it was. When we were walking out my car was surrounded by close to 30 members of a harley bike club. Never in my life would I thought harley riders would have been drawn to the z. I was happy my car was in one piece when they left. 4) Good to make friends with Harley Dudes because you never know when they will come in handy. Lesson #4 learned. |

before pulling the trigger I showed several lady friends (mostly platonic) pics of the three cars I was considering. There was a blue oval and a bow tie in the mix..... it was unanimous that the Z would be most conducive to my dating life..... with margin.
related side note..... My race Jeep was in the sema show a few times over the last yrs. Friday after the show we were running it down the blvd back to the hotel/truck/trailer. not exactly legal, but hey, it's LV. At a red light, a Murcialago pulls up next to me, pimped out for/from the show. Dude lowers the driver window, looks at the jeep and says..... "That's just bitchin" Pretty cool considering the circumstances. |

I love the "What kind of car is that? It's nice." I get that once in a while at gas stations.
When people look at my custom interior, I frequently hear "This looks like it's in a much more expensive car." :) |

Received several:
1. Motorist pull up beside me and give me thumbs up. 2. Driver's taking pictures of my car while on the road. 3. I get hit on by a beautiful woman at Starbucks drive through (If I wasn't married.. :) 4. People stop and ask questions about the car. |
i get a lot of little kids, like 6-10 yrs old thumbs up goin "YEEAAA!" as i pass the ball park. reminds me of my youth lol.
corvette guy pulls next to me at a gas pump and asks, "does it GET IT??" i said, "yea, it GETS IT!!" milfs at the accountant firm tell me they thought it was a porche or bmw. not sure which is worse but i hate the looks of a porche so i dont count that as a compliment. testy drivers of all sorts flooring their POS commuters is the ultimate unintentional way of letting me know that they think it is fast lol. but my favorite is "dude, that is so bad ***!! |
The girl at the coffee shop drive-thru always compliments me on it. And all the guys at Jimmy John's are all, "duuuuude, sick 370". Had a guy drive up next to me the other day honking and waving. Once he got my attention he yells out his window, "young man, that is one BADASS CAR you have there!!!!" I gave him a thumbs up, hit my blinker and made my turn haha.

This alot in early 09 when i first got the Z. |
Watched a tractor trailer driver in his side mirror watch me passing him-he was grinning and honked at me as I passed, I may have been traveling faster than he was...hmmm... he seemed to enjoy it!:driving: :happydance:

The only recurring "compliment" I get is that all the lifted, black-diesel-belching, vertical-exhaust-out-the-bed, blue-headlighted, rusted-out pickup trucks want to race me at every traffic light. Does that count? :ughdance:
I've gotten relatively few compliments on my Z. Friends, family, and the one other guy in my town that owns a 370Z, but that's about it. I've had a few other Z drivers wave at me on the road, and actually several Corvettes. I get very little love from random strangers. I think a lot of folks actually dislike the car, judging from the stare-downs I get from Mustang, Camaro, & Challenger owners. Quite a bit of, "I only buy American" where I live. :icon23: Or maybe I'm just a jerk and I don't know it. :shakes head: I don't really care, as I didn't buy my Z for other's approvals. ;) |

Get a Camaro (Canada) or a Mustang (Many components made in China and Japan). Don't buy a Nissan (other than the Z, many models made in factories in the US). :roflpuke2: |
i only buy american big appliances. washer, dryer, fridge, dish washer

Most of the time I don't get comments I get why didn't you buy a camaro or a mustang or a Corvette.
But when people actually know about the GTR and the 370z I get alot of thumbs up as I drive down the road. |

The most consistent comment I get is that Monterey Blue is an amazing color!
|
People here don't usually seem to notice the Z, but when they do comment, it's invariably to say that it's a "beautiful car" -- which it is. It's usually men who comment, but one soccer mom in a huge SUV said the same thing:rolleyes:

Sub-Zero & Wolf ranges are still made in the US. Some Viking & KitchenAide small appliances (mixers, for example) are made in the US. We have a ~5 year old spare Fischer & Paykel washing machine that I use to launder my car-washing towels & microfibers. It was made in Ohio. Bunn-O-Matic makes coffee makers; their factory is in Springfield, IL (drive by it occasionally). :tiphat: |
