yep id take it as one. anyone taking a photo of the car (though not spoken) means they admire it enough to take a picture so they can share it with other people "look what i saw!!! look look look."

in my mind tho, the most comical is the 12-13 year old girls that literally flip open the door of their parents car, run over with their Smart phones and snap photos...all the while saying " SO HOT...SO HOT SO HOT!!!"

 cant say i've had that happen but it would be very cool i think-i'm still a little surprised at the attention the car garners! Kind of embarassing :bowrofl:

I like when people have no idea what it is (even though it says NISSAN & 370Z right on it) and have a total look of shock and amazement! These also tend to be people who are not car people though but they end up liking our cars, I have a neighbor just like this. Day I brought it home was the only time I ever saw him check out a car, he still asks the occasional question and I have had it for 3 summers now!

Washed it last night and he came over to talk about the Z, which made me think of this thread.

The best compliment has to when people stop and take a picture. No need for words... :) LOL funny I was just driving to lunch today and a little kid inside an SUV took out his phone and started taking pictures and pulling on his Dad's arms to look at the car. LOL. You know you've done good when a car appeals to little kids to seniors.

I was once leaving a practice to get in my car when i noticed 5 japanese men in their 40's and 50's standing behind their car which was parked next to mine. When I came over and opened the trunk 3 of the men turned towards me in unison in a semi deep bow. I was so blown away and flustered that I bowed my head nervously back and hurried into my car.

That's awesome and that's what it is all about.

My story is similar-there is a japanese automotive parts transplant company close to where I live-one of the Japanese there has a really nice new black Cadillac SRS, I pass him occasionally in the local town and he about breaks his neck watching me drive past...it's happened at least twice. = Japanese in American car-American in Japanese car-both staring as they pass-almost like a commercial...LOL:icon17:

After getting pulled over, given a field soberiety test (passed), and breatherlyzer (passed with a .06) trooper stated "what is this, a $70k or so car?" Held back the smile and said close enough. Told me to just be careful and not waste a beautiful car like that. Told him that is why I passed both tests. Only had 2 glasses of wine and split a beer with the old lady over a 4 hr night. They were out doing random checks that night and I was one of the lucky ones that got choosen. BTW I dont ever drink more than 3 drinks over a night out and drive home. I know some will say dont drink any but when you go out for dinner and want to relax and enjoy the meal I like a glass or 2 of wine. Some may disagree but oh-well.

I think you were fine. It is all about knowing your body and knowing your limits. After three drinks I could pass a field sobriety test but would blow over the limit so I stick to two drinks max at dinner when driving.

When my mother in law first saw my Z she said that it makes her car look like an old grandma car. She drives a Mercedea CLK convertible. :)

A gentleman in his 60's asked me what year the car was as my BF and I were getting out of it. I told him 2009, and he replied that he used to have a 280Z and still regretted selling it. That's the second time I've had this conversation with a total stranger. Seems the Z cars leave a lasting impression...

I was walking out of a convenience store yesterday and I'd seen this guy inside - long black dyed hair, lots of tattoos, obvious metalhead vs. me being a prototypical "jock"/athlete type.

Outside he was getting into his car. As I was getting in mine, he said, "You've got a badass f***ing ride, man." Obviously the car transcends any perceived personality differences to the point that he felt inclined to compliment it.

I also once posted about how I got compliments from an elderly lady, a teenager, and a little kid the first day I got it.

Funny, because I wasn't a big 370Z fan in the beginning when I was still rollin' my 350Z... but it's obviously a vehicle that's well-liked across many/most demographics.
