Awesome service at my local Nissan dealership
I was there a few months ago for some routine maintenance and filled out the emailed survey afterwards. They always do a good job so I gave them good marks. There was a fill in the blank area asking if they could improve the snack area. Since I usually wait on my vehicle, I typed in "donuts in the waiting area".
Fast forward to today. I go in for an oil change and met with the service tech that I always meet with. I go into the waiting room and start reading a book. A few minutes later he showed up with a box of Dunkin Donuts. That's great service right there! Share your tales of good experiences at dealerships, since we usually only focus on the negative ones. |

The Nissan sign sure looks shiney as I'm driving past it to a shop that doesn't try to leech every penny out of you.

Their are pros and cons in going with the stealership as I like to call it but I'll being going to a dealer for all my cars needs. Atleast while it's still under warrantie. Just be smart and still shop around. Great customer service experience though. Wish I got that treatment with budget car rental !

agreed, dealerships, more often than not, charge you more than if you were to go someplace else. thats just common knowledge...to every car buyer out thereand if one does deal with the dealership.... be weary of their sly tactic's to entice you, then slam the door behind you , lock and throw away the key like you were the red headed Step child from hell. do your Homework

Hey I said the same thing on my dealers questioner, minus the donuts. If no change next service, I'm going to mention the donuts.

I like this thread since everywhere else I saw are negative things about dealership. But it's not all like that. If you go there and trying to be a pain in the a$$, of course they will give you hard time too. I usually be nice to them especially I gave them work to do while I don't need to pay for a penny(under the warranty). Sometimes I know they over charge me, but I only show them how I appreciate the work they've done on my car afterwards coz I know one day that will be paid off. Of course I will only let them over charge me small money...
Now look, the guys from Nissan and Infiniti become my best friend. I had my z hit a speed bumper damaged entire underbody, cats and caused leak from exhaust header. The SES light was on all the time. I brought the car to the dealership. They knew I got a hit but they didn't say anything and replaced cats, header, O2 sensors for me for free. I got a Xterra for winter, but it didn't come with remote keyless entry. The guy there just gave me one used for free too. And even now I go change oil, they will give me free loaner sometimes. And what's the best? Sometimes they will give me a quote on a fix, but off the line, they will tell me the truth if it worth it or not or if there is any bypass fixes that will cost much less... I know dealership always charge more than other places and that's what they do. But people works there are human just like us. If you make good relationship with them they will help you out too. So why not make your life easier. |

It's nice to read about a positive experience at a dealership for a change.

I have been real happy with my dealerships service. I usually would do the maint my self, but I pre-paid it thinking 3 years of car washes, warranty insurance & the Ester oil. Well 2 out of 3 isn't bad Ester oil not included but service manager told me it's not really needed for as little as I drive the car so he didn't try to con me into the upcharge. My dealer service has been great, but when it runs off contract I will be doing my own maint.

Brought my Z into Sutherlin Nissan, Mall of Georgia for ABS/Slip and VDC lights. Called them at 5 minutes before closing on a wed. night and said Ihad a track day on saturday.
They asked what mods I had, I said too many and I didn't expect warranty service. They found some rubber deposits from track marbles in between my wheel sensor in the hub and didn't charge me anything, even though they put at least two hours into it.
