Getting Very Frustrated.........
About a month ago, after the accident I had, a Geico insurance representative came and had my car towed to get repaired.
Geico paid for a months worth of car rental, and the repair shop gave me about a month estimated time, or so. 3 weeks in I call to check on the progress and I am told that because the car is so new it took a while to get the parts, but that they have just come in and it's about a week and half worth of work. That was last week. So I call again today and he says that they accidentally ordered the wrong parts, and that they have ordered the correct ones now. So once they get the parts, its still about a weeks work. This to me, seems like it could be up to another month now before I get my car. And now without a rental car (unless I have to pay for it myself) i'm left scratching my head as to how to deal with this. I could use my bike but it's been raining a lot and it isnt ideal for an everyday seeing as I have to lug around alot of equiptment for my work. Just needed a vent Anyone else think im getting screwed? |
Have you called Geico to ask them if you can get another rental car? The circumstances aren't within your control, after all.
|
Sounds to me like the guy that screwed up should be paying for your rental car - eg the guy who ordered in the wrong parts.
|
I don't believe you're getting screwed, it's more a matter of the sign of the times with both inventory and the economy. No one wants to carry inventory that they do not have to carry, and the 370Z is new and limited here in the States.

I am going through the exact same thing, though since someone besides me caused the accident, the rental car is not an issue. I have a lovely POS Lincoln Town car. My accident happened 2 months ago. Drivable but not pretty. It has now been in the body shop for 3+ weeks and only the front will be done when I (hopefully) get it in a day or 2. They sat on it for 2 full weeks hoping the rear parts would arrive, getting various promises from the parts dealer. It will take another MONTH to get the rear skin from Nissan as none are in the supply line, then I'll have to go through this all over again. It's a real PITA, especially since the car was 5 days old when I got whacked..Nissan cannot supply a full range of parts for this car at this time
I just realized, after seeing your pics, that you're waiting for some of the same parts I am. Good luck...Better work out that rental thing or buy a temporary beater.. |
What are you talking about ModShack. I though you blinged out the Lincoln Town Car. Didn't you put the fluff performance decals on it? That should be good for another 50HP at least ;P

You should've gotten an extension on your car rental, or until you get the car back. It's not your fault the wrong parts were ordered. Plus, that's what you're paying them for.

hmm interesting. who was at fault at the accident? I had a accident in my 350Z where someone bumped into me at 75 MPH and totally made me do a 360 in a crowded highway :shakes head: . Long story short, I was told by her insurance company (21st century) that I can have a rental car as long as I want until they fix my car. Not only that, they told me I can get w/e rental I want! Now that's a good insurance company!
If it's the other persons fault, his insurance company should provide you with a rental until your car fixed. If it's the body shop that screwing up, then have them get you the rental (tell them to talk to the ins company). |
Hit and run. This one's kinda strange. Here's the original thread re. his accident. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...t-crashed.html
