Default Should I confront them?

The thead below about the Z getting hit by other cars got me to thinking. Right now I have a house with attached garage so no problemo when I'm parking at home but I also have an apartment paid by the gov where I work that has underground parking. I have a spot beside a guy with a beat up car and a crappy motorcycle. In order for him to park the motorcycle and his car, he has to cheat way over near the line on my parking spot. We both have two spots enclosed within large concrete pillars on the ends of the two spots. Not an issue now but when I take possesion of the Z I was thinking of writing a note and putting it on his windshield asking to move over a bit. Do you think this is risky or out of line? I'm a bit worried about repercussions and I try to be non confrontational to a fault. Basically it has gotten worse and his tires are just about practically on the painted parking line. I can't cheat too far away from him because there is a huge pillar that could **** up my door. It's pissing me off thinking about it. I don't want to go to the building staff just yet and want to solve it in a mature fashion. Any advice?

You might try to talk to him on a mature manner before involving the building staff.

Make it your concern for him. Tell him that your new car has really wide doors and you don't want to damage his vehicle(s) - could he move them over a bit?

If your car get's f'd up, at least you'll know who did it. I would just ask the guy.

I agree... talk to him in person if at all possible in a non confrontational way (show him the new ride). He isn't really doing anything "wrong" if he is staying within his spot so a letter may come off in an accusatory tone.

I've unfortunately dealt with people in apartment complexes that put their needs before the courtesy of their neighbors.

You could back it in allowing you to cheat closer to the pillar.

Yeah, it wasn't a concern at first because he kept his moto in a section that couldn't be used for parking and he parked his car very centre of spot. Now, since the weather is riding season he keeps it in his spot so he can wheel it out easily at my expense. I might try to see if there are any better available spots. I did leave a note on his windshield but I chickened out last night and went down and removed it. I thought it had too much nasty tone. Don't have the Z yet, hopefully today.

So help me if it gets scratched or dinged by their beater car I'll turn the lime green Kawi into small bits of plastic. well, not really but I'd be pissed and probably no proof. I'll snap a picture if I get a chance.

Here is a quick pic.
