If he is parking within the lines there is no argument even that when he open the door it could possible hit your car.
Can you get another spot?

Maybe a product like this Magnetic Car Door Protection, Car Door Protectors, Car Door Guards, Prevent Car Door Dings and Dents might ease some stress. I have no experience using this product, and I cringe with the though of sticking something to the paint of my car, but The micro marring would be easier to deal with than a dent.

Definitely talk to him and you can take the approach of being worried about "his" property if you even want to be super delicate about it
I would for sure try to discuss face to face if possible instead of a note as "tone" could be subjective in the note...just like it is on forums sometimes lol.

To be fair, if he sees the next spot is empty, it's normal for him to park close to the line. Otherwise, if you had already parked your car there for a long time, did you get a ding so far? In any case, say hi to him and maybe start a little chat and/or buy him a coffee first.

Here is a picture. The GMC Jimmy was my father-in-law's, who passed away a few years ago but the Z will be there any moment now. This is where I live Monday-Friday but my own house has a nice attached garage. The problem is you can only cheat so far, the pillar to the right is a real danger to the driver door if you back in. The Z is even wider than the GMC. The dimensions look a bit deceptive in that the pillar next to the drivers door is closer than it looks in the picture. If all else fails I'll just drive the Z when I get back home on the weekends. His motorcycle isn't in the picture but it's now kept between the pillar and his car.

The guy is over the line and I would discuss it with him. His side looks a litle "Beverly Hillbillies" also.

#1 Ask him to rearrange his spot. Maybe suggest he park his bike across the top of his spot so he can pull his terdcel in behind it. If that doesn't work try to see if you can switch parking spots. #2 onzedge is in fact the man and he will go Liam Neeson from Taken on your ass!!!

Yeah I agree with the Hillbillies LOL. I gotta laugh at the mattress between the wall and his car LOL, must use it as a buffer.

The thing is when the bike is beside the car there is wayyyy more than enough to sit on the bike and move it out. No need to come that far over. He's making it max relax for himself at my expense. It looks as though I will have to address the issue. I just find it difficult to discuss without sounding confrontational. |

If this approach does not work, then let me know if you want some help along the lines of what Mr. Glokwork suggested. I like that approach too and have gotten pretty good at it over the years.
