Just snapped these in the garage, the car is filthy and I didn't back the car out, so not much room in front = bad angle

Here's how they'll look on a black Z...but this forum member said he actually had the carbon fiber color matched to the car because the cf clashed with the magnetic black.

i have a black Z as well, i chose to color match the existing Nissan emblems, they will look like this when done:

Here's an example of no emblems using Matthew's Z:

the one pictured is not my Z, but it was colormatched. I'm going to be doing the same. I'm sure any body shop could color match it for you, all they need is the paint code. Here's the rear:

Here's the thing... it's not like they're solid epoxy resin, they're hollow inside. They come shipped with CA glue (superglue) and you're supposed to apply it to the edges, but I wasn't crazy about that idea seeing how it doesn't allow much flex, and I hate the white haze it can leave around where you apply it.

I attached the rear with 3M automotive tape (several layers) I'm debating re-doing it as it's not quite perfect. I might fill in the emblem with epoxy and then re adhere it with the same material.

I had the shop that resprayed my front bumper take care of the front emblem. I'm unsure what they used but it's solid.

I read on a old thread that those carbon fiber emblems from the Z store needed to be modified to fit the front and rear?

Face 06-19-2012 01:18 AM

I didn't modify the emblems. You DO have to remove the little nubs on the rear bumper that are underneath the stock emblem (which was really easy with a nice sharp wood chisel)

Bottom line, if you can't figure out how to make these work, please don't ever attempt to do anything of consequence ever again.
