The Z is fkin fast, Feeling torque takes some slick shifting. Mods help as well. The Z is definately a car that takes time to really appreciate. It has a different character than most other sports cars. But if you can't vibe with it on a test drive. I don't know why its bought. Right from the test drive you can feel the uniqueness of this cars ability. I wish it had turbo option but also feel this car is so great, its worth spending money on a turbo upgrade.

Depends what you mean by "fast". I figure a sub-six-second time to 60 mph is good acceleration. A stock 370Z is well below that. Try an after-market cold air intake (e.g., Stillen) and a cat-back exhaust. Then plant your right foot. Oh yeah!

If my Wife is driving, I am not Impressed. It makes noise and doesn't really go fast because she lets the Automatic shift at 5000RPM maximum...

If I am driving, it feels quick because I am revving it to 7000RPM plus...

there is no way. no way at all that our 370's could keep up with a 911S with a halfway capable driver on the track

330HP isn't going to beat 400HP.

I owned a 240 sx too and that truck engine powered car accelerated like a tractor. My Sentra SER was faster. Perhaps youre driving the Z like 240 SX and shifting before you get to 5000 RPM. Z actually makes power to it's 7500 rpm redline. Shift down and use some of those RPMs!
Unless you are driving 5th gen SE-r, it SHOULD be faster because it weights considerably less than the 240sx.

For this car to actually "feel fast" you have to drive consistently in the high rpm's. that means your driving around @ normal speeds @ 3300-4000rpm's in 3rd waiting to make it happen. if your driving this car in the standard method of driving. it will feel like any other car. This Z is quickness driver skill dependent. I will leave it there...
