Yes health car is free (included in taxes), economy is doing very well, unemployment <5%, etc.
5% unemployment is good. I know Cadada is doing well. We have somewhere between 8% to 20% unemployment. We created 4 million jobs, or saved them, or lost 2 million. It's hard to tell what is going on in the U.S. The only thing that we know for sure are our country's TOP secrets. We get them leaked to us every week. O.K. enough from me.

Best of luck in your decision......

36-38k seems like an awful lot though... they go for low to mid 30s in the US. Conversion rate isn't that different either.

most people in the business of selling cars will say never lease it's just not worth it. it's like renting a house for 2 years then buying it. the first 2 years were a waste. did you say there was a mileage limit per year or not.

why not take the 2500 save the payment amount of 650 for 6 months and buy a new one......

There's GST, PST, 6.1% duty, inspection, daytime running lights (if it doesn't have it) and transportation. So the general rule of thumb is to take the US price and multiply it by 20-25% and that's your price landed in your driveway.

You have to pay taxes anyway so that can be deleted from your equation. Yes, you do pay the duty of 6.1%. As for transportation, make a holiday out of it. I think your rule of thumb is a bit high. There is a car dealer here in Halifax who sells a lot of late model high performance cars. Brings them in from the States. So it still must be viable to import and save money. Just sayin'.
