Default chip on hood

So today I got my first paint chip on car. I was driving down the road heading home and a wind gust picked up rocks and hit my car. I am so mad . I am thinking of buying the chip repair from courtesy Nissan. Its pretty cheap 15 for the bottle applicator and 20 for the pen.

Have you guys ever used either one and if you have how did it come out. Is the bottle applicator or the pen easier. My chip is small but I can see it.

Any help, advice would really help.

I hate the look of the clear bra. I would rather repair chips all day than get one of those.

As a professional detailer (part-time) that only uses the best products available (some are mentioned here in the detailing section of this forum) , i can tell you it depends on the brand of clearbra you choose. All clearbra's will give a some type of orange peel, my clearbra has very little, but i got mine done the first week I took delivery and after a full detail (no swirls or scratches, didn't let the dealer touch her). Also, research your installer, i only wanted the best so research is your best friend and to give you a piece of mind.

I had good success with Dr. Colorchip.

Here is another company to check out. They use 3M Putty to fill deep scratches and chips. This may work better for you.

I brought my chipped fender (down to the metal, started to rust) to a body shop recommended by my detailer. They gave me a loaner car for 2 days and fixed it like perfect. They sanded, repainted, clear coated, and it looks perfect. $200 for everything.

Ill give my biased opinion now that Ive had The UltraVentureShield now for over 2 years. The good . It really protects the paint. Absolutely never ( no) swirl marks no matter what you do incorrectly.. Any lighter nicks and scratches can easily be taken out with multiple uses of a mild cleaner/wax like with Megquires. Then use Meguires Ultimate Detailer. This combo keeps it virtually like new. Peace of mind. The negative.I have to think. ..... I have a very hardly noticeable crease line down the side of my hood. From the product beingfolded that way. No factor. The price. Mine was pricey but done by the best. Overall id give the bra a plus 9.5 out of 10. Check my photo album.
