The best tourist thing, from what I hear, is hanging out at my house -- talking about Z's, washing Z's. modding Z's and taking pictures of Z's.

See -- good thinking, isn't it.

Today I spent about 3 hours working what's left of my yard after the drought, which is mainly just the weeds. So I was pulling weeds and cutting back some stuff and actually had to use a shovel to get some of the weeds out. Then I washed the Z with my new CR Spotless deionizer. I used regular water to wash and did the top first, rinsed with DI water, then one side, rinsed that, then the other side, rinsed that, then the hood, rinsed that, and then I did my wheels while I waited for it to dry. It was taking too long (but not leaving spots!) so I blotted it dry with a big microfiber towel - no wiping, just blotting. Then I took it out on the highway for a little blow-drying and came back home to detail it... I figured some of the wash water would come out of the gaps and stuff and I'd have water spots but I didn't have hardly any! I detailed a few little spots and it looks super-clean again, and it was lots easier than using hard water and drying and then detailing all of the water spots that leaves. Now my only potential issue with this thing is how many washes I get out of a $45 bag of the granules. Our water is pretty hard here so it might be as little as 5 washes, but still, it saved me at least an hour and a half. |

I like using the blot technique along with my Metro VAC sidekick. Works like a charm, but not as fun as going for a quick drive on the highway.

hey guys, i finally got some droid picts of my new winter beater dd. went out and picked up some chinese for dinner.
im really liking this car for what it is. it's super smooth riding compared to my 2009 FitSport which my wife uses, and the 5MT with iVtec actually works pretty well going into expressway entrance ramps. it's A LOT torquier (sp?) than the 08 5MT i had. with the way the thing rides, i think im just going to leave it stock. it's got wheel gap but im going to be taking the family all over so parking ramps, etc i wont have to worry about. |

at home even when i need to grab a towel or water or something from inside the house, i close my garage door...even though i have 2 video cameras running in there recording. i dont feel like coming back to the garage only to find out the faces of the guys that took my cordless tools and wrenches. yah, i tried many different cars but when it came to utility (biggest factor), reliability, regular gas, overall cost, past experience, made in japan... i gave the Fit another try. the 08' i sold was MT and it wasn't terrible but i hated the pedal position. it was too close made for real short legged people. my new one they really fixed this area and it feels like a normal car. so i was immediately sold when i took a test drive on Friday. thanks, mr.onzedge. |
