true that.

the thing i like about my seiko kinetic is i can see how much power i have remaining and lasts longer without a wind...and DOESNT loose time since it's a quartz based automatic.

I pretty much only like automatic movements anymore. The quartz ones bore me. Kinetic is cool but I like all of the moving bits in an auto. I just need to hurry up and finally buy a really expensive automatic movement.

I think my next actual watch buy is going to be a Submariner or a Speedmaster (first watch on the moon!).

yah, there is character in these full automatic watches for sure... that's why i liked my orient watch.. but if it's fast by 10min in 24hrs i can't use it. lol so this is why im happy you showed me how to slow it down.

dont 'real' automatic watches go like $5K? those apparently are very accurate and use no quartz inside. i think for most folks the seiko kinetic will do better than the orient for sub $1K watches.

yah, the SP1/MS3's are probably heavier than my SA55M's too... that's one of the down sides on top of shops not having enough info on the back spacing for these wheels.

i know there are like 4 different disk versions offered, but there is no dimension noted so it's partly guess work. at $4K, i dont like guess work.

Real autos can go for as little as $150. A brand new Seiko 7S26 movement is only like $50. That's what I'm using right now. Regulated I can keep them +/- 10-15 seconds per day which is not bad.

Higher-end watches using Swiss ETA movements usually start around $800 and go on up. An entry-level ETA movement is around $200-250 by itself.

Rolex uses its own in-house movements which are very expensive and accurate. They are known for the continuous sweep of the second hand which I really like.

Lots of the other makers just use Swiss ETA these, however some have their own in-house stuff, like Omega's Co-Axial Escapement.

These are the two that I am considering... maybe as a Christmas present to myself:

Both would be around $7k so I am a little hesitant to spend that much. All I wear right now are $200-300 Seiko automatics.
