Nor will Nissan sell the NISMO 370Z as an out-of-the-box competition/track vehicle.

For crying out loud guys - this is no different than any other manufacturer. Does Ford sell any of their cars (even the GT) warranted for competition use? No. How about GM? No. How about Toyota? No. See a trend here?

All of us bought a vehicle designed, built, and warranted for street use only. Nothing says you can't make mods to it for competition - but you'll probably void the some of the Nissan warranty (as you would similarly void some of a Ford, GM, Toyota, Subaru, etc., warranty). That's the way it's always been.

Now lets get back to discussing what oil is best for our Z's!

Oh, I agree with you totally. I was just clearing up some of the confusion.

My bad - didn't mean for it to look like I was aiming all of that at you. I quoted you because your post was a great lead-in to what I wanted to point out.

So if Nissan does not want to back the oil cooler issue install it if the engine fails take it off before you take it in for service I'm sure the add on oil cooler will not show up on ecu

this is my opinion

Default Thats not a joke

Thats not a J/K comment. The paint is cheap. Thin. And in desperate need of a clear coat. If there is a clear coat on there.......damn, I must have washed it away with that damn Mr. Clean Auto Dry/Clear coat remover.

I just washed my car today. Then put some wax on it. You must put wax after each wash. Car is so shinny and clean right now, I'm drooling at my own car

So we're done with the oil thing then? Alright, I guess I'll have to jump on the paint bandwagon now.

I'm having a problem with my paint overheating in heavy traffic. I need a paint cooler, but Nissan won't cover it under warranty.

Maybe it's the paint used on the oil filter can that's causing the oil temp problem

Take a look at a Cayman S. They don't have an oil temp or pressure gauge. It was noted in the literature for the 09 models introduction but hasn't shown up yet. No dipstick either.

Actually it's not thin at all. I measured one recently and it's about average at 5 mills thick. I will say that it seems to be rather soft though.
