The Z has a more limited aftermarket than a lot of vehicles, so remember that if you are intending to go big into modding. Unless you go straight to FI of course.

Like I said, its about the whole picture. If its all about racing for you, the mustang may be the way to go, much more forgiving in most race scenarios. However, If you want to be faster, get the Z.

The 5.0 is the better racer, but the Z is faster? This makes no sense.

What about the Nissan Altima Coupe is that any good? I hear the CVT's transmissions suck because they accelerate real slow once you get fast. idk how to drive manual now but would manual be good?

Just sold my Altima Coupe---used it as DD until my recent retirement. Don't need it any more but enjoyed it very much. CVT was fine. Very sensible car and totally trouble free. Not a sports car but a nice, comfortable sporty car for sure. Incidentally, it was very easy to sell---first guy who saw it grabbed it! Now my 370Z is my DD. Very different car but quite wonderful.

Just remember, mod-for-mod, the Mustang will always best you.

You need to stop looking at your future car with the mindset of "what can it beat???" and instead focus on whether the driving experience makes you happy.

If you can focus only on how your car makes YOU feel, not how your car stacks up against others, you will have a much more pleasant ownership experience. Trust me.

I feel sorry for all the e92 M3 douchebags that feel the need to "prove" themselves whenever they see me on the road in my 5.0. I couldn't care less if they are faster or slower than I am. But you should see the lengths to which these poor souls go to try and make a statement.

Drive happy. That's my advice. :driving:

b1adesofcha0s 06-08-2012 08:42 AM

Well there's one thing to remember for determining who's going to be faster at the track. More often than not it's the person who is the better and more experienced driver than the one with the fastest car. At least this is what I've heard. Haven't been to an actual track myself yet, but am going next weekend

:iagree: I think you should test drive your choices and see which one you feel better driving
