Door Button Chime/Chirp tiny issue

It seems like my Door Button Chime works whenever it feels like it.

Typically, whenever I press the door button, its supposed to be 1 chirp for unlock, 2 chirps for lock. But sometimes, it wouldn't sound at all. The door would still unlock and the headlights would flash, but no sound.

Faulty wiring perhaps?

Here's a video:

I'm guessing you somehow accidentally turned the beep off. Hold down both remote buttons at the same time until you hear a honk. Then you'll get one beep for each door unlock, then two for lock. You'll also get a single honk if you use the remote to lock it.

I've done that before, but it didn't solve the problem. I did find that feature to be very cool though. :ugh2:

That little link was very helpful! Mine was very, very loose. The chirp actually works! Thank you :driving:

OP anytime! Odd, I read that thread recently and just got a vibe from your post... Kinda cool and glad it helped :happydance:

Had the same thing happen to me! Little things the dealer overlooks

Any harm in removing the extended storage switch? I pushed mine in but it's still wobbly. Im thinking of taking it out with some pliers.

If you look in the manual it says that you can remove the switch and replace it with a standard fuse, just have to depress the side tabs and slide it out.

Really bizarre...I've owned my 2011 since April of 2011 and it never chirped/beeped...until this morning! I have no clue as to what it was until I searched the forum and found this thread. I'm pretty sure that I didn't do anything to activate it - wasn't near the fuse box, didn't press the buttons on my keyfob (unless I actually sat on it) - so I'm pretty confused. I got an oil change and car wash on Saturday, but this didn't happen until this morning. Weird. At least its supposed to be beeping, so once I get used to it it'll be ok. As always thanks for the info guys! Definitely saved me a trip to the dealership and kept me from worrying about nothing!

I love this forum, thanks for helping me hear my honks again!
