Yeah I have some shifting noises too.. it's most noticeable if you shift from 1st to 2nd in low speed, and you try to shift rapidly (stepping on the clutch quickly rather than slowly pressing it down). It makes a tractor-trailer truck-like shifting noise.

Ready for perfect noise description? It's goes "kaaaaaaaaaa-glunk! gah gah gah gah goo goo goo."

From the tonnes of posts I've read this seems 'normal' for the 370.. though I try to avoid making that noise in parking lots cuz people look at me like I can't drive stick lol

It'll never happen though if you give it a tiny bit more gas, step on the clutch all the way down, then slowly release it after you shift.

I have plenty of odd noises. One is possibly the throwout bearing. sigh.... The other is my aftermarket exhaust (probably need to tighten the bolts). Oh... the nice hum of a V6 accelerating down the road.

yah, your gear box stops spinning if you clutch-in.

how stuff works has a good animation of how manual transmissions work. that might give you some insight as to wat your drivetrain is doing.

Clutch out in neutral might have a little noise, might sound a little like a "bad" noise like metal-on-metal/bearings but some noise is normal. It's the throwout bearing.

You also might get a bit of a "clank" or "clunk" when you press the clutch down while rolling, that's also normal.

However, grinding into 2nd is not normal, and if the dealer is telling you that, then you should take it to another dealer.
