The most improved item on the 370Z over the 350Z

Its got to be the oil dipstick!!! My 350Z dipstick was like a long wet peice of spaghetti, don't know how many countless times I would miss the hole putting it back in even with the little triangle shaped guide. My 370Z dipstick is now much more rigid and its in the front!!!

Funny, with my 350Z, I never checked the Oil because it did not burn any..Regular Oil changes were all that was needed..Now I have to watch the Oil in my 370Z like a new born baby...:ugh2:

Did the early 350Z suffer from oil consumption?

AlphaSnacks 05-30-2012 12:58 PM

Mostly revup motors, did. Not standard DEs or HRs.

kenchan 05-30-2012 01:11 PM

i need to lay down a small flashlight on the G's strut tower to see the G's dipstick guiding rails on the side of the engine. it's rather clumsy.

on the 370Z, i just pull up without even needing to wipe to read the indicators. very nice indeed.

The 2006 did and it was a TSB for it.

Interior, doesn't feel so darn noticeably plasticy. Made me not want the Z until I got into a 370z.

Kenny 05-30-2012 02:57 PM

The trunk space.

LakeShow 05-30-2012 03:13 PM

Umm everything.

AlphaSnacks 05-30-2012 03:24 PM

Yeah, everything. From the interior (especially cars with navi) to the transmission, to the motor, to the audio, user interface (navi, audio, etc) and so forth.

kenchan 05-30-2012 04:12 PM

one thing the 350Z had over the 370z was no steering lock issue.

AlphaSnacks 05-30-2012 04:14 PM

Agreed. That was something I never worried about with my 350Z.

Soon enough, once UpRev hacks the BCM - I'll have it disabled, hopefully.

The differance of mileage on the 350z to a new 370z...
I'm a new Z owner, so I have no idea other than what Nissan says, "Restyled". pretty much bumper to bumper so they say...

you know...if I have to explain the joke, it takes all the fun out of it...:p

yah, engine bay fusebox near battery, pull steering lock fuse while your car is in ACC. done.
or snip the brown wire leading to the steering lock itself while in ACC (by fritz).

Interior, a friend of mine has a 350 and to me the interior looks cheap compared to the 370 (I had the touring model).

i hated the 350z, loved the g35.when the 370 came out i was like wow its like a poor mans porshe i gotta get it.

Lug 05-31-2012 08:59 AM

After visiting the major forum dedicated to the 350Z for a while, I'd say the biggest improvement between the 350Z and the 370Z was the average quality of the owner. :D

Every year that goes by the 370 becomes more affordable. It will follow the same fate...(sad face)

AlphaSnacks 05-31-2012 10:43 AM

So far, 370Zs are still pretty expensive even used. It's the 2nd best depreciating coupe in its price range, the BMW 335 Coupe being the best, and the Audi A5 being the third.

sounds good. hope it keeps its value.. not so much for me selling the car and getting great trade in value...cause i plan to keep the Z for a long time.... just keep the stupid out. :icon17:
