2010 40th Anniversary Z
Went to a meet yesterday and was told by an insider that a 40th anniversary Z would be made in limited quantity. Would have special paint, wheels, badging, and include spoilers.
|
well, yeah....anniversary editions are for that year.....not going to be made for the whole production cycle of this Z.
|
Without a performance bump it doesn't seem like something a lot of guys would be too interested in. Sounds like one of the 638 "special edition" Mustangs that come out every year.
|
the nismo Z gets the performance bump...this will be all about cosmetics....
|
The anniversery badging is tacky on cars
And yes the mustang deal is rediculous...how many special editions do you need. The last real "edition" Mustang that did anything for me was the Bullitt. |
^^ the mustang fellas celebrate everything...special edition all over....lol
|
well if the colors were better and price wasnt bad id want one. its not too difficult to take off a few anny badges on the car!

What is the special color? Opal Black??!?!?!?!?
yeah right.... I wish... |
So no hp changes like how the 05 35th anniv 350z came out with the rev-up 300hp engine??? That sucks. Nissan should throw in direct injection or at least offer the Nismo's 350hp reflash.
|
In for more info on this 40th anniversary edition.

Wouldnt be surprised to see it get the 350hp Nismo motor. Think about it. The 40th wont have all the other Nismo pieces like suspension, aero etc. So looks-wise and performance-wise it still wont be on the same level as the top dog Nismo "technically". Teh 350z Nismo had the same power as the other HR Z's.
I also wouldnt be surprised to see the 40th have a hp advantage over the other non Nismo Z's a la 05 Revup Anniversary with the 300hp engine while all the rest had 287hp. The 2011 on Z's will probably all have 350hp just like what happened in 06 where all Z's got the 300hp motor after the 05 Anniversary year. |
Yeah; Those esthetically options would be common sense for the 40th anniversary. Probably it would have an increase of HP, but don't think it will be grater than the Nismo. I imagine some other details changed in the interiors too probably, but minimal. They have to build something in between to the Nismo, unless they provide a more special luxury detailed 370z 40th anniversary, and leave performance wise the 370z Nismo.
