New 40th seats, airbags, and a wheel are going to exceed the cost of the loss in value.

Even the Nitto NT05 made me feel uneasy about driving in the rain if it pours more than 1 inch.

The cost ended up to be around 12k for all parts from the dealer.

Hence even if you could have found them used, you would still be looking at several thousand I would bet. That is what insurance is for.

If they are willing to pay for it, go OEM and replace it all under insurance. It should only cost you the deductible.

*Side Note* How insane is it that the relatively small amount of damage on the car costs more then 1/4 of the price of the car BRAND NEW!?! That is almost 1/2 of the value of the car now...

This just shows you why dealerships can afford to sell cars at or below invoice, when it comes down to it they rape the hell out of you.

I have driven my Z for 1000s of miles in heavy rain and have not experienced hydroplaning YET. Yet being the key word. The car felt extremely stable to me in the rain... I drove through a torrential down pour from california to portland and never had any traction issues... You gotta remember your driving a RWD vehicle and be careful in teh rain

I think the car tends to hydroplane at highway speeds especially. VDC has little to do with it. Also the feedback and noise makes any hydroplaning very obvious compared to a lot of other cars

The tread depth on summer sport tires goes fast. Plus the Z's tires are so wide. You'll be driving much slower than others around you to keep your car in it's lane.

Agreed. He probably wouldn't have gotten a ticket...for all we know he could've just hit a patch of water. Unless I had a history of bad driving, I'd go through the insurance and fight any increase. He didn't seem to damage anything but his car, so I doubt he was required to call them anyway. Good luck bro, any accident sucks.

My bad, didn't read the OP date nor your latest update. Wow, that's a lot of coin. Hope she's perfect.

Raped is an understatement for the repair cost. Wow! Too bad it wasn't wrote off.
