There is a list of "Recent Posts by Others on Nissan" at the top of the right-hand column. Click "See All" and scroll down. Look for comments by Kate Hazelwood and Nacho Mahma (that's me). Then scroll down a looonnnggg ways and look for Ryan Castillo, Dylan Cimock, and Michael Cacciola. I didn't scroll any further than that.

I'm assuming since comments were posted on the very public site FB, that the commenters do not mind having their FB nicks posted here. If I'm wrong and you want it removed from this post, just let me know and I'll redact it.

Yeah, they kept removing my post's the other day. Nissan basically told me that I have taken my issue to the highest person other than the owner and nothing will be taken care of.

Just out of curiosity, why we don't hear much complaint from the g37 crowd? Are't they using the same locking mechanism?

Just by looking at the results pages, I couldn't get a good feel for how prevalent it may be or if they use the same SLU, but it appears that at least a few Infiniti ppl are having SLU problems.

Yea it seems this problem is most popular with the early model 370zs although there IS few cases with the infiniti. It's strange cuz I thought the G and Z is basicly on the same platform and share lot of common parts.

I've got a 2009 G37 Journey Sedan w/approx. 45k miles on it. I searched the MyG37 forum some time back and didn't find any problems w/ the steering lock mentioned. The steering lock on the G37 does not look anything like the 370Z's from what I can see by looking under the dash.
You are correct, both the G37 and the 370z are built at the same assembly line and on the same F platform I think.

Thanks. Good to know the SLU on the g37 is different then the SLU on the 370z.

I just noticed in one of the steering lock sticky thread, alot of people had reported SLU failure even if they did disable the SLU. Does that mean even if you pulled the fuse or cut the brown wire, the SLU still could fail? Doesn't make sense to me tho. Or "Did You Disable SLU" means something else?

I don't remember seeing anyone reporting SLU failure after pulling the fuse, cutting the brownie, or installing an extension wiring harness - but maybe I missed it/them. Links?

The part of the SLU that talks to the BCM needs to be in working order. It will fail eventually, but I haven't seen any reports of it happening yet.

As far as I can tell, the only way to get rid of the SLU completely requires that the BCM be re-programmed to ignore it.

Sorry I forgot the link...

Sticky***** Steering Lock Failure Database ***** Sticky

If you run down the list, a lot of people answered "yes" on "did you disable SLU". That gets me wonder...

Ah. I think that is supposed to be "Did you disable the new SLU after replacement?"

Edit: Maybe "supposed to be" were the wrong words. How about "The way I read it..."?
