Something so simple right under our noses this whole time. I wonder if 2011s and 2012s have an updated fuse box housing as a result of them not having the lock anymore.
It'd be even funnier if the fuse box is the same, with just a gap where the fuse used to be in our cars and no lock below the column. Hahaha. Basically, Nissan performing the same fix as us, just taking the extra step of removing the assembly, as well since it costs them money to install. |

i think fritz's finding of powering down the steering lock permanently while in un-locked state triggered some juices.
then baer and daisuke found the fuse and pulled it. walla. very clean user servicable mod. |

I just now went out into my parking lot here at work removed the fuse in about 10 minutes. Just make sure you kind of help the harness out away from the body cavity. Once I got the fuse box up and out of the way I was even able to retreive the 3 little round black clips that I dropped down in there while taking off the plastic thing around the battery off. Car started right up. It felt like the scene in the movie National Treasure when he inserts the pipe into the wall and says " Is it really this simple? " right before he opens the treasure room. You guys are great, thanks, reps P.S. Such a tiny little fuse to fix such a potentially fcked up problem. I'm going to drill a hole in mine and put it on my key chain just to remind me that there are some things we can do |

I thought I remember reading that early 2011's had the lock and later models did not. Guess I should really check and see if I have it or not.
